When The Lucy Show ended in 1968, Gordon moved to Ball's new show Here's Lucy in the role of Lucy's brother-in-law, Harry Carter, a character similar in temperament and demeanor to Mooney.

After her departure from The Lucy Show, Vance appeared occasionally alongside Ball on reunion shows and made several guest appearances on Ball's third sitcom, Here's Lucy ( 1968 – 1974 ).

In 1987, the band celebrated its first chart success with the record Never Mind the Hosen, Here's Die Roten Rosen ( Never mind the Trousers – Here ’ s the Red Roses ) using the pseudonym Die Roten Rosen ( The Red Roses ).

In the spring of 1973, Here's Lucy had fallen to # 15 in the ratings – the first time that a series starring Lucille Ball had fallen out of the top 10.

Here's Lucy ceased production at the end of the 1973 – 74 season, thus ending nearly 23 years of Ball appearing regularly on television.

The ratings had fallen, though Here's Lucy did still finish in the top thirty in the spring of 1974.

Here's Lucy was not offered in syndication when the series ended in 1974 because the other two Lucy series were hits and it was felt that this show might undermine the success of the other two shows or the fact those shows were so successful that this show would not fare as well.

The album was entitled Here's Johnny: Magic Moments from The Tonight Show and it was released in November 1974.

In 1970, after Hatch had died, Marl Young ( 1917 – 2009 ) became the resident music composer for Lucille Ball Productions, Inc. ( including the Here's Lucy series until it finished in 1974 ).

Ball's show, Here's Lucy, still rated in the Nielsen top ten and would continue to pull in high ratings until its end in 1974.

The character remained until the cancellation of Here's Lucy in 1974.
