These included " Harewood House " ( now the site of the Mater Hospital ), Justice Gillies " Rocklands Hall " ( now a hostel ), Alfred Buckland's " Highwic " ( now a museum ), the Hellaby family's " Florence Court ", Josiah Clifton Firth's " Clifton House " ( both still private residences ) and Professor A P W Thomas ' " Trewithiel " ( partially preserved in Withiel Thomas Reserve ").

Highwic house, former homestead, now a function venue at the southwestern edge of Newmarket.

The home of a local businessman Alfred Buckland, Highwic is now owned by the Auckland City Council and administered by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

Overlooking Newmarket on a bluff to the south east is a 19th Century wooden House in the Gothic style called Highwic.

The Leader Building, 13th Avenue and Hamilton Street, downtown Regina, circa 1910. The Leader merged with another paper, the Regina Evening Post, itself in a building on Twelfth Avenue at Rose Street before the merger, and continued to publish daily editions of both before consolidating them under the title The Leader-Post.

This suburb also has the original ( circa 1905 ) house the Eriksen lived in before Norscot Manor was built, and it can be found on Flamingo Avenue.

The community received its present name circa 1860, and is named after Anna Seguine, a descendant of French Huguenots who were among the South Shore's earliest settlers ; this settlement is also responsible for the neighborhood immediately to the southwest of Annadale being named Huguenot, and the Seguine family also lends its name to Seguine Avenue, the principal north-south thoroughfare on the east side of Prince's Bay, the next neighborhood southwest of Huguenot.
