There are now dozens of breweries in Britain making porter, with Fuller's ' London Porter ' winning gold and silver medals at the 1999, 2000 and 2002 International Beer & Cider Competitions, and CAMRA's Supreme Champion Winter Beer of Britain silver medal in 2007, with Wickwar Brewery's ' Station Porter ' winning gold in 2008.

The beer won a gold medal at the 2007 Australian International Beer Awards ( AIBA ).

The brewery first applied for permission for a Qingdao International Beer Festival in 1991 and received approval and great support from the Qingdao municipal administration, even to the extent that the city became the main sponsor.

The festival was named " International Beer Festival " to attract foreigners as well as Chinese, although the main purpose of the festival was to make the brand more popular for domestic consumers.

As the International Beer Festival develops, it is becoming nationally renowned and there are a large number of both international and domestic visitors who join the festival.

Nowadays the International Beer Festival is not simply to publicize the Tsingtao Brewery, but also to encourage the development of the culture of beer in Qingdao.

Federation Square has recently become home to several beer award shows, and tastings, including the Australian International Beer Awards ( AIBA ) trade and public shows as well as other similar events such as showcases of local and other Australian breweries.

The brewery has won various awards including: Champion Australasian Brewery, 2000 and 2003 ( Australian International Beer Awards ), and Best Bohemian-Style Pilsener, 2008 ( World Beer Cup ).

Recently a beer made by International Breweries P. Ltd. in India, Australian Max Beer, has won the title of " World's Best Strong Lager ," at the World Beer Awards ( 27 October 2011 ).

In 2010, the International Pavilion was redesigned to feature more seating and an all new New York Beer and Wine Pub.
