Bob Dylan was asked to contribute music, but was reluctant to use his own recording of " It's Alright, Ma ( I'm Only Bleeding )", so a version performed by Byrds frontman Roger McGuinn was used, instead.

He has also performed the songs " It's Alright, Ma ( I'm Only Bleeding )" and " Ballad of Easy Rider " which were included on the soundtrack of the film Easy Rider.

While their characters were less significant, well-known actors who played cameos in the programme included Joan Sims, best known for her numerous roles in the Carry On films, who guest-starred in the feature-length episode " The Frog's Legacy " as an aunt of Trigger and old friend of Del's late mother ; future Hollywood star David Thewlis, who played a young wannabe musician in " It's Only Rock and Roll "; John Bardon, who played the role of Jim Branning in the soap opera " EastEnders ", as the supermarket security officer in " The Longest Night ".

The resurgence in the conflict provided opportunities to introduce problems such as post-conflict psychological trauma in " The Siege of AR-558 ", and injury when the character of Nog undergoes leg amputation in " It's Only a Paper Moon ".

In September 2011, the quartet released " It's Only Natural " through Cracker Barrel Old Country Store's music label.

The band performed mostly covers of international hits, but Andersson soon started writing his own material, and gave the band the classic hits " No Response ", " Sunny Girl ", " Wedding ", " Consolation ", " It's Nice To Be Back " and " She Will Love You " amongst others.

During that era, a single taken from 1988's ' OU812 ', " When It's Love ", reached the Top Five, peaking at No. 5.

She was the inspiration for Mrs Bidlake in Aldous Huxley's Point Counter Point, for Hermione Roddice in D. H. Lawrence's Women in Love, for Lady Caroline Bury in Graham Greene's It's a Battlefield, and for Lady Sybilline Quarrell in Alan Bennett's Forty Years On.

He has also worked with director Thomas Vinterberg on the 2003 film It's All About Love and provided orchestration for David Gilmour's 2006 album On An Island.
