Knights of the Dinner Table ( KoDT ) is a comic book / strip created by Jolly R. Blackburn and published by Kenzer & Company.

KoDT first started in the second issue of Shadis magazine in March 1990 when then editor Jolly R. Blackburn decided to draw a simple strip of his own to put on the last page which he called Knights of the Dinner Table.

Sara was supposedly based on Jolly Blackburn's wife, Barbara Blackburn.

Originally published in 2001, it began as a fictional game, a parody of the most ludicrous aspects of D & D played by the characters of the Knights of the Dinner Table comic strip by Jolly R. Blackburn.

In 4th edition, the official setting of Hackmaster was Garweeze Wurld, a giant continent on the planet Aldrazar based on the notes of Jolly Blackburn.

Started by Jolly Blackburn, it began as an independent gaming fanzine in 1990, and was later transformed into a quality small-press magazine in 1993.

In a 2000 interview at the Gaming Outpost web site, John Zinser, the owner of Alderac Entertainment Group, said that he wanted the in debt company to grow at a faster pace than Jolly Blackburn was comfortable with.

Hence, a split was agreed upon, with Jolly Blackburn leaving with the rights to Knights of the Dinner Table and a few other properties.

The first incarnation of the Jolly Rogers was established on January 1, 1943 at NAS Norfolk, as VF-17 by Lieutenant Commander John T. " Tommy " Blackburn.
