It was announced in September 1988 by a consortium of PC clone vendors ( the " Gang of Nine ") as a counter to IBM's use of its proprietary Micro Channel architecture ( MCA ) in its PS / 2 series.

In 1987, IBM released the PS / 2 line of computers, which included the MCA bus.

In 1974, Track Records / MCA released a Moon solo single that covered The Beach Boys songs " Don't Worry, Baby " and " Teenage Idol ".

Released on Uni / MCA Records, the record was produced by Bill Laswell and expanded the acoustic palette introduced on Greed and Children of God.

Gira's disillusionment with their Uni / MCA exploits led to White Light from the Mouth of Infinity ( 1991 ), a successful blending of earlier hard rock and later pop styles.

In 1972, after four years of silence, the couple returned to the studio and released two other albums under the MCA / Kapp Records label.

Micro Channel Architecture ( MCA ) was a proprietary 16-or 32-bit parallel computer bus introduced by IBM in 1987 which was used on PS / 2 and other computers until the mid 1990s.

MCA was primarily a 32-bit bus, but the system also supported a 16-bit mode designed to lower the cost of connectors and logic in Intel-based machines like the IBM PS / 2.

Around 40 MB / s of throughput was observed ( the theoretical maximum for MCA was 66 MB / s ), although some higher throughput functions of the Microchannel bus were not initially supported on cards operating on an Intel platform.

All interrupt request signals were " public " on MCA permitting any card on the bus to function as an I / O processor for direct service of I / O device interrupts.

By the time they signed with MCA Records, the lineup of John Paul Camp ( saxophone / vocals ), Sean Dolan ( guitar ), Jimmy Flame ( trumpet / vocals ), Chaz Linde ( keyboard / vocal ), Dave Lund ( bass / vocals ), Billy Spunke ( vocals / megaphone ), and Bob Trondson ( drums ) stuck together as a total of 22 musicians passed through the band since their formation.

By 1970, Dot had become an all-country label and in 1974, Paramount sold all of its record holdings to ABC Records, which in turn was sold to MCA ( now Universal Music Group ) in 1979.

Except for the Superman cartoons and the features sold to MCA ( to end up with Universal ), most television prints of these films have had their titles remade to remove most traces of their connection to Paramount – the original copyright lines were left intact on Popeye cartoons ( the Popeye cartoons have been restored for DVD release with the original Paramount titles ).

After a decade of operating through Warner, when its contract with the company expired, the label was sold to MCA Music Entertainment ( later renamed Universal Music Group ) in 1990.

The entire group was sold to MCA Records in 1979 ; as a result of subsequent takeovers, the remnants of the ABC music group are now owned by Universal Music Group.

Both the film and Thomas Hauser's book The Execution of Charles Horman were removed from the United States market following a lawsuit filed against Costa-Gavras and Universal Pictures's parent company MCA by former Ambassador Nathaniel Davis and two others for defamation of character.

Other artists signed to the label would include Rhett Akins, Gary Allan, Mark Chesnutt, and Lee Ann Womack ; of these, all but Sears would be shifted to the MCA Nashville roster after parent Universal Music absorbed PolyGram in 1998 and shut down Decca Nashville.

When the MCA and PolyGram labels merged in 1999 and created Universal Music, the practice was eliminated.

The Decca label is currently in use by Universal Music Group worldwide ; this is possible because Universal Studios ( which officially dropped the MCA name after the Seagram buyout in 1997 ) acquired PolyGram, British Decca's parent company in 1998, thus consolidating Decca trademark ownership.

NBC revived the show twice — in 1970 and 1976, and finally in 1985 Lantz sold all of the Woody Woodpecker shorts to Universal, then part of MCA.

After Diamond had signed a deal with MCA Records, whose label at the time was Uni ( after MCA's parent company, Universal Pictures ), he moved to Los Angeles in 1970.

Gordy relocated Motown Records to Los Angeles in 1972 and there it remained an independent company until June 28, 1988, when Gordy sold the company to MCA and Boston Ventures ( which took over full ownership of Motown in 1991 ), then to PolyGram in 1994, before being sold again to MCA Records ' successor Universal Music Group, when it acquired The PolyGram Group.

The film was released on both VHS and Laserdisc, in 1982 and 1987, by MCA Videocassette, MCA Videodisc, and MCA Home Video ; respectively.

MCA Home Video released Harvey on VHS in 1990.

The film was later released on VHS and laserdisc in 1983 by MCA / Universal Home Video and by Goodtimes Home Video in 1996.

In 1980, MCA Home Video ( then known as MCA Videocassette Inc .) released Jaws 2 on VHS and Laserdisc, following its 1980 theatrical re-release in theaters.

In 1982, there was a staged musical show at the Huntington Hartford Theater in Hollywood, California and a video of that show was released in 1983 by MCA Home Video.
