The college has ten Bachelor of Fine Arts majors: Communication Design, Contemporary Animated Arts, General Fine Arts, Illustration, Intermedia, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Video and Sound ; and five Master's programs: a mentor-based MFA in Visual Studies, a Low-Residency MFA in Visual Studies, an MA in Critical Theory and Creative Research, an MFA in Applied Craft and Design, and an MFA in Collaborative Design.

The gallery also annually hosts the Undergraduate and Graduate Thesis exhibitions ( respectively, the BFA, MFA, and Graduate Design Exhibitions ).

Matrika Design Collaborative is currently designing the museum's Indian Miniature Painting Gallery.

The museum ’ s project architects are Jones & Jones Architects and Landscape Architects Ltd. of Seattle and SmithGroup of Washington, D. C., in association with Lou Weller ( Caddo ), the Native American Design Collaborative, and Polshek Partnership Architects of New York City ; Ramona Sakiestewa ( Hopi ) and Donna House ( Navajo / Oneida ) also served as design consultants.

Among the new centers and institutes for applied research established since 1979 were the Irrigation Training and Research Center, the Environmental Biotechnology Institute, the Dairy Products Technology Center, the Collaborative Agent Design ( CAD ) Research Center, and the Brock Institute for Agricultural Communication.

The Greenguard Children & Schools standard is referenced by both the Collaborative for High Performance Schools ( CHPS ) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ( LEED ) Building Rating System.
