* Ian Mitchell from the band Bay City Rollers was born in Downpatrick.

In the 1970s and 1980s the American jazz musician Gerald Oshita ( based in Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area and associated with Roscoe Mitchell ) played avant-garde jazz on an EE ♭ contrabass manufactured by Conn. More recently ( 1990 – 2006 ), recordings using sarrusophone have been released by saxophonists Scott Robinson, Lenny Pickett, James Carter, and Paul Winter.

The park's history dates to the 1890s, when entrepreneur Mitchell Nejedlo purchased the land he would turn into Bay View Beach.

The first known teacher of sign language was Dorcas Mitchell, who taught the children of one family in Charteris Bay, Lyttelton Harbour, from 1868 to 1877.

It was named by Ludwig Leichhardt on the 16 June 1845 after Sir Thomas Mitchell while he was on his overland expedition from Moreton Bay to Port Essington.

Mitchell was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 47th round of the 1997 Major League Baseball Draft after graduating from Kathleen.

In his March 5 mock draft, Kiper projected Mitchell to be drafted by the Green Bay Packers with the tenth overall selection.

In a divisional playoff game against the Vikings on January 16, 2005, Mitchell caught a two-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and celebrated by feigning to pull his pants up, a reference to the touchdown celebration by Vikings ' wide receiver Randy Moss, who pretended to pull his pants down to moon Green Bay fans the week before and was heavily criticized for doing so.
