Paramahansa Yogananda ( January 5, 1893March 7, 1952 ), born Mukunda Lal Ghosh, was an Indian yogi and guru who introduced many westerners to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga through his book, Autobiography of a Yogi.

The Mahima Dharma or " Satya Mahima Alekha Dharma " was founded by the Brahmin Mukunda Das of present-day Orissa, popularly known by followers as Mahima Swami according to the Bhima Bhoi text.

Beside Vaishnava poetry, the most significant work of the 16th century was Mukunda Chakravarti's Chandimangal.

Yukteswar and his disciple, Paramahansa YoganandaHe had only a few long-term disciples, but in 1910, the young Mukunda Lal Ghosh would become Yukteswar ’ s most well known disciple, eventually spreading the teachings of Kriya Yoga throughout the world as Paramahansa Yogananda.

The group was first mentioned in AD 1100, when the Magar King of Palpa and Butwal, Mukunda Sen, invaded and conquered the Nepal ( Kathmandu ) valley.

Yogananda was born Mukunda Lal Ghosh in Gorakhpur, India, into a Bengali family of the Kshatriya caste.

In 1953, SRF published Kriyānanda's ( then still called Donald Walters ) book Stories Of Mukunda, and in 1960 an LP album with him singing Yogānanda's Cosmic Chants, called Music for Meditation.

She was the first student of Mohiniyattam at Kerala Kalamandalam in early 30s, when Poet Vallathol Narayana Menon and Manakkulam Mukunda Raja started a course to revive this dying art form.

He, as brahmachari Mukunda Chaitanya, underwent probationer's training at the Belur Math, headquarters of Ramakrishna Mission for two years.

Sri Chakravarti Thakura took up residence with Mukunda Dasa, who lived in Krishnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami's bhajana kutir at Radha-kunda.

Udupi Ramachandra Rao, popularly known as U. R. Rao () is a space scientist and former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation.

U. R. Rao was born at Adamaru in Karnataka State, India.

Dr. U. Rama Rao was the founder President of the Academy, there have been six others in that post.

In 1935 Rao was sent to study abroad in Soviet Union again, and in 1936 to U. S. and France to do alliance work with Chinese living overseas, in which he published several newspaper such as Herald, Motherland Defence Times to publicize CPC policies on alliance against Japanese.

In 1946, Rao was one of the CPC delegates to work with delegates of Kuomintang and U. S. on peace talks, with rank of Lieutenant General, many of his counterparts who got rank of Colonel General and General after they defeated Kuomintang in 1949 only got rank of Major General at that time, which could indicated Rao's appeal and importance to Mao Zedong.

Also, Prof. U R Rao, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Institute, in 1997, was impressed by the scale and ambition of the newly inaugurated Techfest at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and on his behest, several students came together and staged ' Pragmaa ', a technical festival, in 1997, and then in 1999.

The territory was ceded to the British by Daulat Rao Sindhia by a treaty on June 25, 1818.
