On February 3, 1995, the New London Northern's line became part of the New England Central Railroad, a regional railroad from New London north to East Alburg, Vermont.

The project when it opens in fall 2012 will include a athletics complex featuring an ice hockey rink with 900 seats ; a basketball court with 1, 200 seats ; classroom space ; a fitness center ; and multi-purpose indoor practice courts that can also be used for performances and other events, with a combined seating capacity of 3, 000.

A new multi-purpose arena and events centre, the Tim Horton Events Centre, built in honour of him, was officially opened in the fall of 2006.
