Children living in the town or village of East Aurora attend Parkdale Elementary ( grades K – 4 ), East Aurora Middle School ( grades 5 – 8 ), and East Aurora High School ( grades 9-12 ).

The NDP scored a surprise victory over the Liberals in the late summer of that year in the riding of Parkdale — High Park.

In the riding of York South — Weston, adjacent to Parkdale — High Park and once the seat of former leaders Bob Rae, Donald C. MacDonald and Ted Jolliffe, the NDP continued its string of recent by-election successes by taking away another Liberal strong-hold.

They are fielding three candidates in the 2006 federal election, Beverly Bernardo in Parkdale — High Park, Michel Prairie in Toronto Centre and John Steele in Eglinton — Lawrence.

The riding was created in 1987 from Trinity and Spadina, and smaller parts of Toronto Centre — Rosedale and Parkdale — High Park.

Parkdale — High Park is a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1979.

It was created during the 1976 electoral boundaries redistribution from parts of Parkdale, High Park — Humber Valley, Davenport and Spadina districts.

Including the park and portions west, between the north and south borders of the park is the neighbourhood of Swansea ; north of the park are the neighbourhoods of High Park North and the south half of The Junction ; north-west of the park are the neighbourhoods of Runnymede-Bloor West Village and Lambton Baby Point ; to the east of the park is Roncesvalles ; and Parkdale directly to the south and to the south-east.

The riding was created in 1976 from parts of Parkdale, High Park — Humber Valley, Davenport and Spadina ridings.

In the 1999 and 2003 general elections, he was elected to represent the new Parkdale — High Park constituency.

In the 2008 federal election he ran for the Liberal Party of Canada in the Parkdale — High Park electoral district and was elected as its Member of Parliament ( MP ).

He instead ran in the neighbouring riding of Parkdale — High Park, which contained about one fifth of his previous constituency, mostly the affluent Baby Point neighbourhood.

On August 16, Premier McGuinty called a by-election to replace Kennedy in Parkdale – High Park for September 14.

On February 6, 2007, Kennedy confirmed that he would seek the Liberal nomination for Parkdale — High Park in the next federal election.

In 2011, Kennedy sought re-election to his Parkdale – High Park seat against Peggy Nash in a rematch of the 2008 campaign.

She ran in that campaign as a Conservative candidate in Parkdale — High Park, but lost to one of her fellow Liberal leadership contenders, Gerard Kennedy.

She won the PC nomination in the Parkdale — High Park constituency, and faced high-profile Liberal MPP Gerard Kennedy in the general election.

Local schools are Parkdale School, Carlton-le-Willows Academy, Gedling School and The Carlton Academy ( next to the large Carlton Forum Leisure Centre on Coningswath Road ).

A Church School in the Hintonburg neighbourhood ( the former Bethany Presbyterian Church became Parkdale United ), eventually became St. Stephen's Church in 1945, while " minority " groups formed St. Giles in The Glebe, Westminster in Westboro, South Gloucester and Knox Church, Manotick.

Fred attended Grace Street School, ( where he had to repeat fourth grade ) until 1909 when he started to attend Parkdale Collegiate Institute on Jameson Avenue.

In 1873 Parkdale Collegiate Institute, a second high school, was established in Toronto, precipitating yet another name change, this time from Toronto High School to Jarvis Street High School.

With Haircuts by Children O ' Donnell worked with a grade 5 / 6 class at Parkdale Public School in Toronto and Luther Burbank School in Los Angeles, trained them and provided free haircuts to the public by 10-year-olds.

His company, Mammalian Diving Reflex, is the resident art company at Toronto's Parkdale Public School and has created a series of events entitled Parkdale Public School vs. Queen West that brought children together with artists, the public, businesses and cultural institutions along Toronto's rapidly gentrifying Queen Street West.

It is known locally for its beach which extends from the cliffs in Beaumaris and ends at Warrigal Road where it meets Parkdale.

Parkdale is located at the western end of the Parkers Road level crossing, with station access from Parkers Road, Como Parade East and West.

Parkdales local library, Kingston Library, is located on Parkers Road adjacent from Parkdale Station.

The production facility on Parkdale Road in what was then Avon Township MI ( site now in Rochester MI ) was also a landmark in that vicinity, and is now used by JHP Pharmaceuticals.

It is bounded by Barton Street East ( north ), Queenston Road ( south ), Parkdale Avenue North ( west ) and the Red Hill Valley Trail.

The limits were ( Burnside ) to the north and running down to the Ottawa River at the Sluce cutting ; First street on the east ( Stonehurst Avenue ); Road allowance and the Canada Central Railway to the North ( Scott Street ); Fifth Street ( Parkdale Avenue ) to the west.
