The MC2 Nova ( co-created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz ) first appeared in Spider-Girl # 7 and wrongly believed Spider-Girl was a supervillain since she was fighting Darkdevil at the time.

The two collaborated on April – May's # 251-2 ( the Secret Wars crossover issues ), before DeFalco took over fully with # 253, for a two year run, chiefly in collaboration with artist Ron Frenz.

During his tenure as Editor-in-Chief, DeFalco had continued to write as well, with noted runs on Thor ( where he created the New Warriors with artist Ron Frenz ) and the spin-off Thunderstrike, as well as Fantastic Four.

He inked Ron Frenz for a four-stint on Thor from 1991 – 1993, and Thunderstrike from 1994 – 1995.

The title also served as the new home for Spider-Girl, who was written by Tom DeFalco and illustrated by Ron Frenz, the character having first appeared on Marvel. com as The Spectacular Spider-Girl.
