Samuel " Screech " Powers ( played by Dustin Diamond ) is a school nerd.

During the series, Screech briefly has a girlfriend named Violet ( played by Tori Spelling ); it is not made clear why the two broke up.

Dustin Neil Diamond ( born January 7, 1977 ) is an American actor, musician, director, and stand-up comedian best known for his role as Samuel " Screech " Powers in the television shows Saved by the Bell, Good Morning, Miss Bliss, Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class.

Diamond's most memorable role was that of the nerdy Samuel " Screech " Powers on the television show Saved by the Bell, a role he played for close to thirteen years from its beginning as Good Morning, Miss Bliss ( 1988 – 89 ) through its final incarnation, Saved by the Bell: The New Class ( 1994 – 2000 ).

Continuing the series into college, Saved by the Bell: The College Years shows most of the cast transplanted into not only the same college, but also the same college dormitory, where Screech continued his typical misadventures.

Actor Eric Cullen left the programme following series 3 due to personal problems to be replaced by David McKay's Screech.

In 1994, Anco released Kick Off 3 developed by Steve Screech, a totally new game with nothing in common with Kick Off 2.

Examples include selling the stock the students had bought as a class project and investing the money in potatoes, setting rats loose in the school in order to get a test postponed, using a relationship between his father and Miss Bliss to get out of doing homework, betting Nikki that he could kiss a rock star who was coming to the school, and getting Screech to write his history report by promising a date with Lisa, even though all he actually does is write love letters to Lisa from a secret admirer, on Screech's behalf.

The characters of Zack Morris, Samuel " Screech " Powers, Lisa Turtle, and Mr. Richard Belding all originated on the series ; other main characters, including other classmates Nikki Coleman ( Heather Hopper ), Mikey Gonzalez ( Max Battimo ), and maintenance supervisor Mylo Williams ( T. K. Carter ), were discontinued when the show changed direction.

In several early episodes of the series, Screech has an anthropomorphized robot named Kevin, which he programs.

In 2001 – 2003, the KOA collaborated closely with Anco developer Steve Screech in an attempt to relaunch the Kick Off and Player Manager series.

However, in Saved by the Bell: The College Years, we see Zack attending Cal U, along with Screech, Slater ( who had planned on attending Iowa to join their wrestling program ), and later on, Kelly ( who joined the cast after the pilot episode ).
