Within the sects of the Latter Day Saint movement, the Articles of Faith are a list composed by Joseph Smith, Jr. as part of an 1842 letter sent to " Long " John Wentworth, editor of the Chicago Democrat.

* Articles of Faith

The most prominent reference to the term evangelist in the denomination's literature is found in its Articles of Faith, derived from the Wentworth letter, a statement by Joseph Smith in 1842 to a Chicago newspaper editor that the church believes in " the same organization that existed in the primitive church ", including " evangelists ".

Nonetheless, a full dogmatic articulation of the canon was not made until the 1546 Council of Trent for Roman Catholicism, the 1563 Thirty-Nine Articles for the Church of England, the 1647 Westminster Confession of Faith for Calvinism, and the 1672 Synod of Jerusalem for Greek Orthodoxy.

Nonetheless, full dogmatic articulations of the canon were not made until the Canon of Trent of 1546 for Roman Catholicism, the Thirty-Nine Articles of 1563 for the Church of England, the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647 for Calvinism, and the Synod of Jerusalem of 1672 for the Greek Orthodox.

The existing 27-book canon of the New Testament was reconfirmed ( for Roman Catholicism ) in the 16th century with the Council of Trent ( also called the Tridentine Council ) of 1546, the Thirty-Nine Articles of 1563 for the Church of England, the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647 for Calvinism, and the Synod of Jerusalem of 1672 for Eastern Orthodoxy.

They are divided, in compliance with the command of Queen Elizabeth I, into four sections: Articles 1 – 8, " The Catholic Faith "; Articles 9 – 18, " Personal Religion "; Articles 19 – 31, " Corporate Religion "; and Articles 32 – 39, " Miscellaneous.

Minneapolis hardcore consisted of bands such as Hüsker Dü and The Replacements, while Chicago had Articles of Faith, Big Black and Naked Raygun.

Bands such as Husker Du, Articles of Faith, and new bands formed by members of bands like Deep Wound and Minutemen experimented with other genres and were embraced by college radio, coining the term " College Rock ".

They were to explain and teach the Articles of Faith, the Ten Commandments, the Works of Mercy, the Seven Deadly Sins, the Seven Virtues and the Sacraments.

Sa ' adya's Emunoth ve-Deoth (" Beliefs and opinions ") was originally called Kitab al-Amanat wal-l ' tikadat (" Book of the Articles of Faith and Doctrines of Dogma "); it was the first systematic presentation and philosophic foundation of the dogmas of Judaism, completed at Sura Academy in 933 CE.

In " Book of the Articles of Faith and Doctrines of Dogma " Sa ' adya declares the rationality of the Jewish religion, with the caveat that reason must capitulate wherever it contradicts tradition.

Faith " in the twentieth of the Thirty-nine Articles was inserted by fraud.

The work was originally written in Arabic as Kitāb ul-ʾamānāt wal-iʿtiqādāt (; Arabic: " Book of the Articles of Faith and Doctrines of Dogma "), but is better known in the Hebrew translation of Judah ibn Tibbon ( 1186 ) as Emunot ve-Deot (; Hebrew: " Beliefs and Opinions ").

Nazarenes have established 16 " Articles of Faith " as a guiding principle for living Christianity.

They believe that “ The emergent ideology is a perversion of the Word of God and the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene .” The group circulated a petition to members of the denomination, which was presented by 500 members to the Board of General Superintendents in January 2009, with the desire that “ Our fervent hope and prayer is that the General Superintendents will respond by purging our denomination of the emergent cancer before it is too late .” Prior to the most recent General Assembly held in July 2009, the Concerned Nazarenes advocated revising the Articles of Faith to affirm biblical inerrancy: “ Old and New Testaments are inerrant throughout and the supreme authority on everything the scriptures teach .” Further, they are concerned about the teaching of open theism and biological evolution in Nazarene universities ; invitations to emergent church leaders Brian McLaren, Leonard Sweet, and Doug Pagitt to speak at Nazarene institutions ; and the use of “ experiential works-based techniques for prayer ”, including prayer labyrinths, prayer stations and retreats to Roman Catholic monasteries.

The Declaration of Faith, with the Articles of Religion, was established by the Church in the 1947 General Assembly.

The Creeds: The Articles of the Christian Faith as contained in the ancient Creeds known as the Apostles ’ and Nicene Creeds are to be taught by this Church and accepted by the faithful.

The Doctrine and Constitutional Rules of the Philippine Independent Church, adopted on October 28, 1903, and subsequently amended, and the Fundamental Epistles of the Philippine Independent Church, are henceforth not to be held as binding either upon the Clergy or Laity of this Church in matters of Doctrine, Discipline or Order, wherein they differ in substance from the Declaration of Faith or the Articles of Religion contained herein.

The next wave of Chicago hardcore was more pure hardcore, as opposed to incorporating many different influences, and included Articles of Faith and Rights of the Accused.

Paul Mahern of the Zero Boys led the effort, and founded Affirmation Records, releasing several compilations and recordings from Articles of Faith ( from Chicago ) and local band Killing Children before going out of business.

The Declaration announced the states ' entry into the international system ; the model treaty was designed to establish amity and commerce with other states ; and the Articles of Confederation, which established “ a firm league ” among the thirteen free and independent states, constituted an international agreement to set up central institutions for the conduct of vital domestic and foreign affairs.

The Preamble to the Hopi constitution states that they are a self-governing tribe, focused on working together for peace and agreements between villages in order to preserve the “ good things of Hopi life .” The Constitution consists of thirteen different “ Articles ,” all with a different topic of interest.

Congress appealed to the thirteen states for an amendment to the Articles to tax enough to pay the public debt as principle came due.

Prior to the Constitution, the thirteen states were bound together by the Articles of Confederation, which was essentially a military alliance between sovereign nations used to fight the Revolutionary War.

Articles of faith are sets of beliefs usually found in creeds, sometimes numbered, and often beginning with " We believe ...", which attempt to more or less define the fundamental theology of a given religion, and especially in the Christian Church.

His services to his church have been summed up thus: ( 1 ) he has a keen sense of the proportion of the faith and maintains a clear distinction between what is fundamental, needing ecclesiastical commands, and subsidiary, needing only ecclesiastical guidance and suggestion ; ( 2 ) as distinguished from the earlier protesting standpoint, e. g. of the Thirty-nine Articles, he emphasized a positive and constructive statement of the Anglican position.

* The Henrician Articles ( 1573 ; Poland-Lithuania ) or King Henry's Articles were a permanent contract that stated the fundamental principles of governance and constitutional law in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, including the rights of the nobility to elect the king, to meet in parliament whose approval was required to levy taxes and declare war or peace, to religious liberty and the right to rebel in case the king transgressed against the laws of the republic or the rights of the nobility.

An important concrete manifestation of this is the Chicago-Lambeth Quadrilateral, which incorporates Articles VI, VIII, XXV, and XXXVI in its broad articulation of fundamental Anglican identity.

* Ninth Schedule ( Article 31-B ) – Originally Articles mentioned here were immune from judicial review on the ground that they violated fundamental rights.

The scope of the resolutions, going well beyond tinkering with the Articles of Confederation, succeeded in broadening the debate to encompass fundamental revisions to the structure and powers of the national government.

The Henrician Articles or King Henry's Articles ( Polish: Artykuły henrykowskie, Latin: Articuli Henriciani ) were a permanent contract between the " Polish nation " ( i. e., the szlachta ( nobility ) of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth ) and a newly-elected king upon his election to the throne that stated the fundamental principles of governance and constitutional law in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

In that role, he served on the Grand Committee, which proposed fundamental amendments to the Articles of Confederation.

The Court held that to the extent S. 377 criminalised consensual non-vaginal sexual acts between adults, it violated an individual's fundamental rights to equality before the law, freedom from discrimination and to life and personal liberty under Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution of India.

The Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion are the historically defining statements of doctrines of the Church of England with respect to the controversies of the English Reformation.

The next revision was the Six Articles in 1539 which swung away from all reformed positions, and the King's Book in 1543 which re-established almost in full the familiar Catholic doctrines.

In the final Tract XC, Newman argued that the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, as defined by the Council of Trent, were compatible with the Thirty-Nine Articles of the 16th century Church of England.

The Books of Homilies ( 1547, 1562, and 1571 ) are two books of thirty-three sermons developing the reformed doctrines of the Church of England in greater depth and detail than in the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion.
