Axminster railway station is on the West of England Main Line that runs from Exeter via Salisbury to London Waterloo.

Lancaster is served by the West Coast Main Line which runs through Lancaster railway station.

East Coast runs inter-city express services on the East Coast Main Line to Peterborough, Doncaster, Leeds, Wakefield, Lincoln, Hull, York, Darlington, Durham, Newcastle Central, Edinburgh Waverley, Glasgow Central, Dundee, Aberdeen, Perth and Inverness.

Today, New London Main Street, non-profit civic organization founded in 1998 devoted to the New London Historic Waterfront District, runs programs that promote the district's cultural and economic vitality and also campaigns for various initiatives to keep and enhance the district's streetscapes.

It runs southeast into Salisbury, where it follows Jake Alexander Boulevard to the southeast and then joins US 29 North as Main Street.

Also referred to as the Paterson Peripheral, it runs from an intersection with County Route 509 ( Broad Street ) and County Route 609 ( Colfax Avenue ) in Clifton north to another intersection with County Route 509 ( Main Street ) in downtown Paterson.

Knoll Road runs off Main Street.

Pratt Street runs parallel to Main Street, and many houses on that thoroughfare not only were built in the Federal style, but have their roof lines perpendicular to the street, which allows for more homes to be erected on a given highway.

The county line between Kankakee County and Ford County runs right through the middle of town on Main Street.
