* " Columbia ", a song on the 1994 Oasis album Definitely Maybe

The song Friends in Low Places made famous by Garth Brooks mentions a bar called " The Oasis " that is named after a now-closed establishment in Concordia.

Oasis recorded a version of the song in 1994, first released as a B-side of their single " Cigarettes & Alcohol " in the same year.

According to the liner notes of this album, Oasis also played the song live in Manchester before they were well known.

Around this period, Oasis guitarist and friend of Ashcroft, Noel Gallagher, dedicated the song " Cast No Shadow " on the album ( What's the Story ) Morning Glory?

No Way Sis were a cover band from Glasgow who had a top 40 hit in the UK with " I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing " a cover of the New Seekers song sung in the manner of Oasis.

The Japanese band Little by Little derived their name from the Oasis song of the same name.

Love Is Hell included a cover of Oasis ' " Wonderwall ", which Adams had previously performed live, and about which Noel Gallagher once said, " I never got my head round this song until I went to Ryan Adams play and he did an amazing cover of it.

Oasis have been successfully sued for plagiarism by Neil Innes, ironically himself a member of Beatles-parody band The Rutles sued by McCartney over plagiarism of The Beatles ' songs, as Noel Gallagher's 1994 song Whatever directly lifted parts of its melody from Innes's 1973 song How Sweet to Be an Idiot.

Jay-Z opened his set at Glastonbury 2008 with a cover of Oasis ' song " Wonderwall ".
