* The Taz, a sobriquet for Rabbi David HaLevi Segal, author of Turei Zahav

David ha-Levi Segal ( c. 1586 – 20 February 1667 ), also known as the Turei Zahav ( abbreviated Taz ) after the title of his significant halakhic commentary on the Shulchan Aruch, was one of the greatest Polish rabbinical authorities.

This commentary, known as the Turei Zahav (" Rows of Gold "), was accepted as one of the highest authorities on Jewish law.

The Turei Zahav ( טורי זהב-" Rows of Gold "), an indispensable commentary on Shulchan Aruch ( Orach Chayim ), was published by Shabbethai Bass in Dyhernfurth in 1692, together with the Magen Abraham by Abraham Abele Gumbiner.

The title Turei Zahav is a play on the similar-sounding turei zahav ( תורי זהב ), " towers of gold ", in Song of Songs 1: 11.

Since there are many opinions that dispute the Rema ( such as the Shulchan Aruch, Turei Zahav, Eliyah Rabba, Chayei Adam, Sh ' vut Ya ' akov, Mor U-K ' tzi ' a ), Rabbi Feinstein writes that, practically speaking, one should not fast on Friday in such circumstances.

He was the father-in-law of Rabbi David HaLevi Segal, who frequently refers to him in Turei Zahav, his commentary on the Shulchan Aruch.

The party is currently co-led by MP Metiria Turei and Russel Norman.

Turei, standing in, was ranked 8th on the Green Party's party list, and so entered Parliament as a list MP.

Naomi Shemer's songs, including " Yerushalayim Shel Zahav " ( Jerusalem of Gold ), " Hoy Artsi Moladeti " ( Oh my Land My Homeland, lyrics Shaul Tchernichovsky ), " Horshat HaEkaliptus " ( The Eucalyptus Grove ), have become icons in the patriotic repertoire.

" Jerusalem of Gold " (, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav ) is a popular Israeli song written by Naomi Shemer in 1967.

Much of her success, including " Yerushalaim Shel Zahav ", was due to the song contests of the time.

The Jerusalem ZAKA organization was founded in the 1990s by Yehuda Meshi Zahav and Rabbi Moshe Aizenbach and Rabbi Zvika Rosental, the Director of ZAKA Tel Aviv, as a non-profit organization in addition to its police status.
