* In the X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse ( which is loosely based on the Age of Apocalypse storyline ), Avalon is Magneto's base in the Savage Land.

After the events of Utopia, Xavier has come to live on the risen Asteroid M, rechristened Utopia, along with the rest of the X-Men, X-Club, and mutant refugees and is also allowed to join the Utopia lead council ( Cyclops, Storm, Namor, Iceman, Beast, Wolverine and Emma Frost ).

In the film X-Men, a UN summit held on the island is targeted by Magneto, a former immigrant who attempts to artificially mutate all the delegates present.

* In X-Men Legends, Genosha is mentioned when Magneto gives his demands on television to make it a mutant paradise under his control.

Having absorbed some secret haunting memories, she needs to get away from the X-Men and Iceman volunteers to join her on a road trip, though at the same time he was starting to see visions of Emma Frost.

" " Carey's Iceman story in Manifest Destiny takes place before the recent " Uncanny X-Men " arc that saw Iceman arrive in San Francisco, and follows Iceman as he travels west on a cross-country trip to the X-Men's new home.

Wolverine and Beast went to re-recruit him back on to the X-Men but his parents refused to allow him to return to the team after what happened.

In 2006, IGN rated Jean Grey # 6 on their list of Top 25 X-Men from the past forty years, and 2010s X-Men: Second Coming which sees both Hope's return as a teenager and the return of the Phoenix Force.

Phoenix continues her life as Jean Grey with the other X-Men, joining them on missions and saving the universe.

In Ultimate X-Men, the Sentinels, created by the Ultimate Marvel version of Bolivar Trask, were already in action at the beginning of the first story arc, hunting down and killing mutants on the streets, in a program apparently openly and publicly acknowledged by the U. S. government.

Sentinels were planned for inclusion in the second X-Men film, X2, but they did not appear onscreen ( although Project Wideawake is mentioned on a computer readout screen ).

The era of the original X-Factor had lasting effects on the X-Men mythos.

It has been said that the comic books and the X-Men animated series delved into the AIDS epidemic with a long-running plot line about the Legacy Virus, a seemingly incurable disease thought at first to attack only mutants ( similar to the AIDS virus which at first was spread through the gay community ).
