* David McKee, creator of Mr Benn the popular UK television programme for children, first broadcast on BBC1 in the early 1970s.

Mr Benn lives in London at 52 Festive Road ; David McKee used to live " next door " at 54 Festing Road, where current residents have come together to install an engraved paving slab in his honor.

Mr. Tracey claimed to have met Neave and was asked to join a team of intelligence and security specialists which would " make sure Benn was stopped ".

In October 1973 he announced on BBC Radio that he wished to be known as Mr Tony Benn rather than as Anthony Wedgwood Benn, and his book Speeches from 1974 is credited to " Tony Benn ".

Mr Benn is a character created by David McKee who appears in several children's books, and an animated television series of the same name transmitted by the BBC in 1971 and 1972.

Mr Benn, a man wearing a black suit and bowler hat, leaves his house at 52 Festive Road and visits a fancy-dress costume shop where he is invited by the moustachioed, fez-wearing shopkeeper to try on a particular outfit.

Mr Benn returns to his normal life, but is left with a small souvenir of his magical adventure.

Many different Mr Benn projects are being undertaken at the present time, and Tate Publishing has republished all the original books.

Duncan Lamont who composed all the original music has been commissioned by David McKee to record an album of Benn music, and there are also official Mr Benn Facebook and Twitter sites under the name therealmrbenn.

The latest Mr Benn book

The original four books were: Mr Benn-Red Knight, Big Game Benn, 123456789 Benn, and Big Top Benn.

The fifth was called Mr Benn Rides Again, the story of which was used to make the television episode The Cowboy.

123456789 Benn was published in 1970 ( ISBN 0-234-77361-8 ) and tells the story of Mr Benn as a convict ( hence the number ) inspiring his jail-mates to brighten up their cells.

A new story was published in 2001, the first Mr Benn story that David McKee had written in thirty years, and is called Mr Benn-Gladiator ( ISBN 1-84270-024-3 ).

McKee has indicated that he may write more Mr Benn stories in the future.

Mr Leslie suggested that Walford Davies ' special arrangement for choir and string orchestra should be performed at the Annual General Meeting of NFWI held in the Queen's Hall, London in 1924.

In the recently released Action Comics Annual # 10 ( 2007 ), " Superman's Top 10 Most Wanted " describes Mr. Mxyzptlk and provides the pronunciation as mix-yez-pittle-ik, exactly like the 1967 animated series.

For historical purposes, in 1977, Current Borough President Marty Markowitz (" Mr. Brooklyn "), ( then known as State Senator Markowitz ), and other pols began the Annual " Midwood Field Concerts " Series at the Midwood High School Field.
