Military museums specialize in military histories ; they are often organized from a national point of view, where a museum in a particular country will have displays organized around conflicts in which that country has taken part.

The fort is now a tourist attraction, early American military museum, and research center.

Operated as a state museum, it contains artifacts from the site, mannequins representing military units and a detailed model of the fort.

Another section of the museum features a permanent military exhibition.

The Epiphany Cathedral ( left ), the governor's palace, a school of medicine, a museum, a military hospital and the crown factories are among the public institutions and buildings.

The buildings house the Musée de l ' Armée, the military museum of the Army of France, the Musée des Plans-Reliefs, and the Musée d ' Histoire Contemporaine, as well as the burial site for some of France's war heroes, notably Napoleon Bonaparte ( lists below ).

The Command and Staff College Museum is a museum dedicated to British military history.
