It was to provide a safe and spacious crossing for these caravans, and also to make a pleasance for the city, that Shah Abbas 2, in about 1657 built, of sun-baked brick, tile, and stone, the present bridge.

Prince, Field-Marshal Abbas Mirza ( عباس میرزا in Persian ) born Navaa village ( August 26, 1789 – October 25, 1833 ), was a Qajar crown prince of Persia.
