The original title of Baron of Howth was granted to Almeric St. Lawrence by Henry II of England in 1181, for one knight's fee.

Lord Almeric Athelstan Spencer-Churchill and Lady Clementina Spencer-Churchill, the children of George Spencer-Churchill, 6th Duke of Marlborough, by his second wife, Charlotte Augusta Flower.

On 17 March 1649 a French expedition of 203 men from Martinique, led by Jacques Dyel du Parquet who had been the Governor of Martinique on behalf of the Compagnie des Iles de l ' Amerique ( Company of the Isles of America ) since 1637, landed at St. Georges Harbour and constructed a fortified settlement, which they named Fort Annunciation.

On 27th Sep 1650 du Parquet bought Grenada, Martinique, and St. Lucia from the Compagnie des Iles de l ' Amerique ( Company of the Isles of America ), as it was dissolved, for the equivalent of £ 1160.

Soon, grimoires appeared that involved Catholic saints within them ; one such example that appeared during the 19th century which became relatively popular, particularly in Spain, was the Libro de San Cipriano, or The Book of St Ciprian, which falsely claimed to date from circa 1000.

DMD is named after the French neurologist Guillaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne ( 1806 – 1875 ), who, in the 1861 edition of his book " Paraplegie hypertrophique de l ' enfance de cause cerebrale ", described and detailed the case of a boy who had this condition.

For unknown reasons he resigned as Grand Master in 1171, and was succeeded by Odo de St Amand.

The other half was passed to Amaury de St. Amand, becoming known as Saint Amand ’ s, and was subsequently sold to Thomas Wykeham and was reunited with Bloxham Beauchamp when inherited by Baron Saye and Sele, known as Bloxham Fiennes.
