The Amber Diceless Roleplaying Game is a role-playing game created and written by Erick Wujcik, set in the fictional universe created by author Roger Zelazny for his Chronicles of Amber.

Amber DRPG was created in the 1980s, and is much more focused on relationships and roleplaying than most of the roleplaying games of that era.

The game is set in the multiverse described in Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber.

The Amber multiverse consists of Amber, a city at one pole of the universe wherein is found the Pattern, the symbol of Order ; The Courts of Chaos, an assembly of worlds at the other pole where can be found the Logrus, the manifestation of Chaos, and the Abyss, the source or end of all reality ; and Shadow, the collection of all possible universes ( shadows ) between and around them.

It is assumed that players will portray the children of the main characters from the books-the ruling family of Amber, known as the Elder Amberites-or a resident of the Courts.

However, since some feel that being the children of the main characters is too limiting, it is fairly common to either start with King Oberon's death before the book begins and roleplay the Elder Amberites as they vie for the throne ; or to populate Amber from scratch with a different set of Elder Amberites.

The former option is one presented in the book ; the latter is known in the Amber community as an " Amethyst " game.

Amber is fossilized tree resin ( not sap ), which has been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since Neolithic times.

Amber is used as an ingredient in perfumes, as a healing agent in folk medicine, and as jewelry.

Amber occurring in coal seams is also called resinite, and the term ambrite is applied to that found specifically within New Zealand coal seams.

Amber is discussed by Theophrastus, possibly the first historical mention of the material, in the 4th century BC.

Another early reference to Amber was Pytheas ( 330 BC ) whose work " On the Ocean " is lost, but was referenced by Pliny.

Amber is globally distributed, mainly in rocks of Cretaceous age or younger.

Amber becomes abundant long after the Carboniferous, in the Early Cretaceous,, when it is found in association with insects.

Amber's place in culture and tradition lends it a tourism value ; Palanga Amber Museum is dedicated to the mineral.

Many of the extras were recruited by Amber Rudd who is described in the credits as " Aristocracy Co-ordinator "— among those used were Lords Burlington and Woolton.

The character Piggy states that the new name consisted of three parts ; " Cam " taken from the original name of Cambridgetown, " ber " which means ' river ', because there are many rivers in the area, and " ley " because it is a common ending for English town names in the area ( as in neighbouring Frimley ); although the name was actually derived from the " Cam " stream which runs through the town ( mainly underground ), " Amber " Hill which was marked on John Norden's map of the area in 1607 and " ley " usually meaning a clearing in the woodland.

In 1909 he had a daughter, Anna-Jane, with the writer Amber Reeves, whose parents, William and Maud Pember Reeves, he had met through the Fabian Society ; and in 1914, a son, Anthony West ( 1914 – 1987 ), by the novelist and feminist Rebecca West, twenty-six years his junior.

Since 1983 it has been part of the parliamentary constituency of Hastings and Rye ; the current MP, since 2010, is Amber Rudd of the Conservative Party.

In Canada, maple syrup is classified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ( CFIA ) as one of three grades, each with several colour classes: Canada No. 1, including Extra Light, Light, and Medium ; No. 2 Amber ; and finally No. 3 Dark or any other ungraded category.

He meets Dara, a woman claiming to be his great-grandniece, and later discovers a threat to Amber ; a black road which runs across universes from the Courts of Chaos to Amber.

Within this multiverse, Zelazny deals with some interesting philosophical concepts about the nature of existence, compares and contrasts the ideas of Order and Chaos, and plays with the laws of physics — they can differ from Shadow to Shadow ; for instance, gunpowder does not ignite in Amber, which is why the characters all carry swords.

As with many artists, they have themselves raised questions about their earlier work ; Rob Brown mentioned that Incunabula and Amber retrospectively sounded " cheesy " in a 2008 interview with Pitchfork Media prior to the release of Quaristice.

It was also a very old market for the amber brought to Italy from the north ; the main arm of the Amber Road crossed the Danube at Carnuntum.

In France the term " ambrée " is used to signify a beer, either cold or warm fermented, which is amber in colour ; the beer, as in Pelforth Ambrée and Fischer Amber, may be a Vienna lager, or it may be a Bière de Garde as in Jenlain Ambrée.

Finale episode " Restless " delves into the characters ' psyches through dream sequences ; Xander's dream involves his erotic attraction to Buffy's mom ( Kristine Sutherland ), Willow and her girlfriend Tara ( Amber Benson ), his fear of his abusive father, and features a re-enactment of 1979 film Apocalypse Now.

A self-proclaimed " very difficult man ," Shaw was married eight times: Jane Cairns ( 1932 – 33 ; annulled ); Margaret Allen ( 1934 – 37 ; divorced ); actress Lana Turner ( 1940 ; divorced ); Betty Kern ( 1942 – 43 ; divorced ), the daughter of songwriter Jerome Kern ; actress Ava Gardner ( 1945 – 46 ; divorced ); Forever Amber author Kathleen Winsor ( 1946 – 48 ; annulled ); actress Doris Dowling ( 1952 – 56 ; divorced ); and actress Evelyn Keyes ( 1957 – 85 ; divorced ).

On the other hand, Zelazny had authorized other Amber books written by other authors such as The Black Road War and Seven No-Trump gamebooks penned by Neil Randall ( co-author of The Visual Guide to Castle Amber with Zelazny ) and The Complete Amber Sourcebook by Theodore Krulik.

Holmes continued to find work during his comeback, and along with many of his male contemporaries, he helped to usher in the new starlets of the decade such as Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn, Sheri St. Claire and Kimberly Carson as upcoming directors focused on looking for younger talent.

Moreover, some bands left their mark, such as El Polen, Traffic Sound, Pax, We All Together, Telegraph Avenue, Black Sugar, Crossroads, Tripping Foxters, Red Amber, and in the late 1970s Fragil.

When Willow and Tara first met in the fourth season, the writers did not intend the relationship to be romantic but the actors had such chemistry that, two episodes later, Whedon and the writing team took Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson aside to inform them where it would go.
