International trains, run jointly by Amtrak and Via Rail, connect New York with Toronto and Montreal.

The line will be less than a mile long, and will connect the Canal Streetcar Line through the Central Business District to the UPT Amtrak Station and Greyhound Depot.

From there, passengers can connect to an Amtrak train.

All routes, with the exception of some of the 600-numbered series select service trips, connect with regional train service, primarily BART, in addition to ACE in Pleasanton and Amtrak, including Amtrak California's Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin services in Martinez.

This area is served by AC Transit bus lines 76, 71, and 376, that connect the community with Richmond BART & Amtrak station, Contra Costa College in San Pablo, and Hilltop Mall in addition to other areas of west county.

Amtrak motor coaches connect from Los Angeles to the San Joaquin Route in Bakersfield with frequent service through the Central Valley of California to Sacramento, and Oakland.

At Trenton, riders can connect to SEPTA and Amtrak.

Downeaster passengers who wish to connect with the rest of the Amtrak system can use the Orange Line to Back Bay Station, Orange and Red Lines to South Station, or take a taxi to Back Bay Station or South Station.

Thruway Motorcoach is Amtrak's system of Amtrak-owned intercity coaches, locally contracted transit buses, through-ticketed local bus routes and taxi services to connect Amtrak train stations to areas not served by its railroads.

The airport is served by buses from the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District, which connect with intercity buses and with Amtrak.

The Amtrak tracks connect with the Boston Line track 2A via dispatcher controlled switches at either end of the track.

Amtrak, the national rail passenger system, provides daily service from Montpelier, operating the Vermonter between St. Albans, Vermont and Washington, D. C. Greyhound Bus Lines operates buses that serve Montpelier.

Greyhound buses and Amtrak trains both serve Redding.

Both services serve South Station in Boston with connections to MBTA Commuter Rail and Amtrak intercity lines.

Amtrak trains do not serve Ogden directly.

Amtrak Cascades trains, operating as far north as Vancouver, British Columbia and as far south as Eugene, Oregon, serve Centralia several times daily in both directions.

Trains which turn north at New Haven to serve Springfield, Massachusetts operate over the New Haven-Springfield Line, which is wholly owned by Amtrak.

The station does not currently serve Amtrak trains, which pass through the station on the inner tracks without stopping.

Earlier versions, operating in several other Amtrak corridors, are sometimes called “ cabbage cars ” because they serve as both a cab control car and a baggage car.

The Moffat Tunnel continues to serve as the route for the Amtrak California Zephyr between Chicago, Illinois and Emeryville, California, and until summer 2009, for Ski Train passengers between Denver and Winter Park.

Both trains used Central Station, which Amtrak was abandoning ; Amtrak judged that the additional 35 – 40 minutes necessary to serve Union Station made the schedule impractical.

Amtrak trains cannot and do not serve the station because the track that serves the single platform is not electrified.

VTA, on the other hand, provides several express and commuter buses that serve San Jose, Milpitas, and other attractions in the South Bay, and its services act as a connector along the only part of the ring around the Bay without rail connections ( the closest such station, Fremont-Centerville Amtrak & Altamont Commuter Express station, is about two miles away ; the nearest Capitol Corridor station is at Hayward, although one is proposed for Union City ).

This allowed NYNH & H trains to run over the HR & PC and into New York Penn Station, though most continued to serve Grand Central Terminal until Amtrak took over intercity operations in 1971.

By the startup of Amtrak on May 1, 1971, the Inland Route was no longer in use, but frequent trains continued to serve the New Haven – Springfield Line.

Kansas City's Union Station is home to Science City, restaurants, shopping, theaters, and the city's Amtrak facility.

The last trains departed in 1971 when newly created Amtrak moved its operations to another station, the South Bend Amtrak Station on the city's western outskirts about west of Union Station.

The Penn Station site is also the city's Amtrak station, providing regular direct inter-city rail links.

The Bullhead City area is accessible by Interstate 40 ( via Needles or Kingman ), Amtrak ( via Needles BNSF ), Greyhound Bus Services, and Highways 95 and 93.

When Northwest Indiana Regional Bus Authority ( RBA ) expanded the Hammond Transit System into EasyGo Lake Transit service, one of its new routes included Calumet Avenue in northern Dyer, within walking distance of the Amtrak station.
