In a typical year, Ontario averages 15 confirmed tornado touchdowns, where more are reported in the Windsor-Essex-Chatham Kent area, though many are seldom destructive ( the majority between F0 to F2 on the Fujita scale ) and only few are stronger and very destructive.

An F2 tornado entered city limits on June 2, 1998.

However, an F2 tornado did hit downtown on August 11, 1999, killing 1 person, injuring 60, and causing $ 170 million in damage.

On September 16, 2006, an F2 tornado damaged homes in Rogers, killing one person.

On May 27, 2001, Manalapan was struck by a tornado rated at F2 on the Fujita scale, causing over $ 1 million in damage.

On July 12, 2006, an F2 tornado struck the hamlet, causing major damage to the California Closets Warehouse and minor injuries to three people.

On July 12, 2006, the Westchester tornado, an F2 event, touched down in nearby Hawthorne and proceeded to move into Valhalla, causing much destruction in the Stonegate section of the community.

On March 23, 2011, a funnel cloud briefly appeared over the Greensburg and Hempfield areas just around 4: 45 PM and eventually touched down as an F2 tornado, causing widespread damage to scores of homes in the Fort Allen neighborhood and in neighboring Sewickley Township.

On November 2, 1967, the Last Chance Motel was destroyed by a cone-shaped F2 tornado.

Although Utah as a whole only averages 2 – 3 tornadoes per year, Manti was hit directly by an F2 tornado on September 8, 2002.

It remained over rural areas for 14 miles ( 22 km ) but the F2 partially destroyed Bethel Baptist Church in Odenville, 26 homes and mobile homes and other buildings in the Coal City area.

In 2005, the speedway received heavy damage on the evening of July 6, caused by an F2 tornado spawned from the remains of Hurricane Cindy. Damage caused tornadoes spawned by Hurricane Cindy Roofs and facades were torn off buildings andto Friday night, and shortly afterwards both Cup races began featuring night qualifying.

On the night of Friday, March 14 an F2 tornado swept across Atlanta from the west, damaging buildings from the Georgia Dome & CNN Center across downtown and then through several residential neighborhoods and historic Oakland Cemetery.
