A special commission appointed by the Szczecińsko-Kamińska Metropolitan Curia has deducted, on the basis of historical records and an inscription on the pillar, that the urn indeed contains the heart of Carl Loewe.

This inscription is also from 1871 and is a shortened form of the text which had previously been on the ( not preserved ) foregate: “ Concordia domi et pax foris sane res est omnium pulcherrima ” (“ Harmony within and peace without are indeed the greatest good of all ”; see “ Outer Holsten Gate ” below ).

As for the Year 27 hieratic graffito at Horemheb's Funerary temple at Medinet Habu and the Year 59 date from the inscription of Mes, Van Dijk argues that the first date likely inaugurated a statue of Horemheb during Year 27 of Ramesses II or III in Horemheb's temple while the latter date of Mes " can hardly be taken seriously, and indeed is not taken at face value by even the staunchest supporters of a long reign " for Horemheb since there was no standard Egptian practise of including the years of all the rulers between Amenhotep III and Horemheb as Wolfgang Helck makes clear.

For example, to write EINN ( one ) the runes E-I-N were used ( writing customs avoided having the same rune twice in a row for identical sounds ) and indeed the word EN ( one ) is in the Kensington inscription.

The statue shows Hodge sitting next to a pair of empty oyster shells atop a copy of Johnson's famous dictionary, with the inscription " a very fine cat indeed ".

Towards the end of his reign he instituted a coregency with his successor Amenemhet IV, as recorded in a now damaged rock inscription at Konosso in Nubia, which equates Year 1 of Amenemhet IV to either Year 46, 47 or 48 of his reign.

The Latin rock inscription close to Boyukdash mountain in Qobustan, Baku, which mentions Legio XII Fulminata, is the world's easternmost Roman evidence known.

For example, the Behistun inscription is an official document of the Achaemenid Empire engraved on native rock at a location in Iran.

The famous mandala carving and the Tibetan inscription on a rock in village Manthal near Skardo town, which dates back to early 8th century, is one of the best examples of these efforts.

Neatly etched on the rock surface is a pin-men inscription of Ashoka Brāhmī script, more impressive than the much smaller replica positioned outside the entrance of the National Museum in Delhi.
