In March 1582 there was a skirmish in the streets of London between Oxford and Anne's uncle, Sir Thomas Knyvet.

Oxford's illicit congress with Anne Vavasour resulted in an intermittent series of street battles between the Knyvet clan, led by Anne's uncle, Sir Thomas Knyvet, and Oxford ’ s men.

He attended St Anne's Roman Catholic High School ( where his uncle taught and later became head teacher ) and Aquinas College, where he studied English literature, drama and geography.

The ceremony was an elaborate affair, witnessed by the highest ranking peers and clergy in the kingdom, including Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire and Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, Anne's father and uncle respectively, Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk ( Henry's brother-in-law ), the Archbishop of York, the Bishop of Winchester and the Bishop of London.

A book of hours given to her by Lord Mountjoy, who was both her stepfather and her uncle by marriage ( Mountjoy's sister Constance was the mother of Anne's first husband ), is in a private collection at Beeleigh Abbey.

Anne's paternal uncle, Prince Xavier of Bourbon-Parma, issued a statement objecting to any marriage conducted against the will of the Pope and the bride's family.

This made his uncle, Anne's husband, the 5th Earl of Winchilsea, and Anne, the Countess of Winchilsea.

On August 7, 1954, they were married at St. Anne's Catholic Church, in San Antonio, by her uncle, Father Vincent Liberto.

Anne's aunt Lady Clarendon ( the wife of Henry Hyde, 2nd Earl of Clarendon ) was appointed as her new governess.

The name Haughton survives in Haughton Green, the main centre of the old township, and now a large housing estate surrounding the ancient village core ; Haughton Dale, a picturesque hamlet at the bottom of Meadow Lane, and Haughton itself, which is the area around St. Anne's Church and Hyde Road.

Jonathan Swift, for example, wrote in 1713 about " those who are now commonly called Prime Minister among us ", referring to Sidney Godolphin, 1st Earl of Godolphin and Robert Harley, Queen Anne's Lord Treasurers and chief ministers.

He left several sons, his heir Edward being the father of Queen Anne's Lord Treasurer Robert Harley, 1st Earl of Oxford and Mortimer.

Simon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt, of Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, PC ( December 1661 – 23 July or 28 December 1727 ) was Queen Anne's Lord Chancellor of Great Britain.

Guinness was born at St Anne's, Raheny, near Dublin, the eldest son of Sir Benjamin Guinness, 1st Baronet, and elder brother of Edward Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh.

William's favourite, Arnold van Keppel, 1st Earl of Albemarle, eventually convinced him to agree to Anne's appointments, and William's acceptance was sent from the Netherlands in September 1698.

After Anne's death, however, Richard named another nephew, John de la Pole, Earl of Lincoln, the son of his older sister Elizabeth.

Henry also came to an arrangement with Anne's Irish cousin and created him Earl of Ormond.

In 1475, his wife Isabel, Anne's sister, finally gave birth to a son, Edward, later Earl of Warwick.

In 1415 Anne's widower Cambridge plotted with Henry Scrope, 3rd Baron Scrope of Masham to depose Henry V, Anne's cousin and the reigning king of England, and place her brother, Edmund Mortimer, 5th Earl of March on the throne.

The Earl of March was not involved in the Southampton Plot which, despite its failure, successfully promoted the claim of Anne's descendants, especially the Yorkists, to the throne of England.

* Robert Harley, author, statesman, and friend to the " tory wits ," who had been involved in Anne's ministry for some time, was created Earl of Oxford.

Lady Anne's first husband was Richard Sackville, 3rd Earl of Dorset, whom she married on 27 February 1609.

Anne's husband the Earl of Sussex was a " popular but extravagant man " who, by extravagance and losses by gambling, had to sell the estate of Herstmonceaux and others.

Anne's paternal grandparents were Francis Russell, 2nd Earl of Bedford and his wife Margaret St. John.

Following the death of Anne's father, and subsequently that of her brother, Henry ( who had been created a duke ), and her niece Anne de Beauchamp, Neville inherited the title and the considerable estates of the Earl of Warwick through her.

* 1702 – English colonists under the command of James Moore besiege Spanish St. Augustine in Queen Anne's War.

In 1703, the Estates passed a bill that declared that their selection for Queen Anne's successor would not be the same individual as the successor to the English throne, unless England granted full freedom of trade to Scottish merchants in England and its colonies.

In colonial North America, the conflict became known to the English colonists who fought against French and Spanish forces as Queen Anne's War.

When Queen Anne's War ended, the town was selected by Governor Joseph Dudley to host negotiations for the 1713 Treaty of Portsmouth, which temporarily ended hostilities between the Abenaki Indians and English settlements of the Province of Massachusetts Bay and New Hampshire.

When Queen Anne's War started in 1702, the town was again abandoned by its English inhabitants except for Diggory Sargent.

Marlborough's weakness during Anne's reign lay in the English political scene.

* Anne of Great Britain, ( 1702 – 1714 ) Following the Act of Union with Scotland, Anne's personal union of the Scottish and English crowns was replaced by a political union.

While Acadia survived the English invasion during King William's War, the colony fell during Queen Anne's War.

The main town, St Anne (' La Ville ', or ' Town ' in English ), is referred to as ' St Anne's '.

" A century later, an English historian asserted that the reason Jane had testified against them was based purely on her " inveterate hatred " of Queen Anne, which sprang from jealousy at Anne's superior social skills and George's preference for his sister's company to his wife's.

Most worked first in English camps along the Hudson River to pay off their passage ( paid by Queen Anne's government ) before they were allowed land in the Schoharie and Mohawk Valleys.

She was educated at Putney High School, a girls ' independent school in Putney, London, and later read English at St Anne's College, Oxford.

An English fort was established in the early 18th century to defend the south side of Trinity Bay from the French during Queen Anne's War.
