Article 16 ( 6 ) of the Treaty on European Union provides:

The most relevant articles are Articles 1, 2, 3, and the first paragraph of Article 16.

In addition, Article 16 allows ethnic Croatians living outside Croatia " acquire Croatian citizenship " by making a written declaration and by submitting proof of attachment to Croatian culture.

Although Article 16 of the 1996 amended constitution, see the above referendum, reaffirms the equality of religions and denominations before the law, it also contains restrictive language that stipulated that cooperation between the state and religious organizations " is regulated with regard for their influence on the formation of spiritual, cultural, and country traditions of the Belarusian people.

Article 16 requires states to recognize everyone as a person before the law.

In January 1947 the United Nations Security Council approved Resolution 16 under Article 24 of its charter calling for the creation of a free state in Trieste and the region surrounding it.

Article 16. 5 of the 1937 constitution states that " Dáil Éireann shall not continue for a longer period than seven years from the date of its first meeting: a shorter period may be fixed by law ".

As indicated in the 1987 Constitution ( Article II, Section 16 ) there exists legal basis for environmental protection with the provision that:

Contrast this with the subtly more modern variation of the Texas version: Article 1 ( Titled Bill of Rights ) Section 16, entitled Bills of Attainder ; Ex Post Facto or Retroactive Laws: Impairing Obligation of Contracts: " No bill of attainder, ex post facto law, retroactive law, or any law impairing the obligation of contracts, shall be made ".

The Repertory on Article 24 says: " The question whether Article 24 confers general powers on the Security Council ceased to be a subject of discussion following the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice rendered on 21 June 1971 in connection with the question of Namibia ( ICJ Reports, 1971, page 16 )".

Article 16 of the Constitution of France allows the President of the Republic to exercise exceptional powers in case of a national emergency.

In 1962, the Council of State ruled itself incompetent to judge measures of a legislative nature issued by the President under Article 16.

In his book, Le Coup d ' État permanent ( The Permanent Coup ), François Mitterrand criticized Article 16 for allowing an ambitious politician the opportunity to become a dictator.

The 72 signatories and 166 parties to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights recognise this rule, under Article 14 ( 7 ): No one shall be liable to be tried or punished again for an offence for which he has already been finally convicted or acquitted in accordance with the law and penal procedure of each country.

At present, however, the Irish version of the subsection prevails in accordance with the rule stated in Article 25. 5. 4 °.

This is reflected in the Napoleonic Code prohibiting judges from deciding a case by way of introducing a general rule ( Article 5 ), since the creation of general rules is an exercise of legislative and not of judicial power.

Article 49 of the PRC Law on Protection of Consumer's Rights and Interests enacted on October 31, 1993 provides the rule that any consumer is entitled to a recovery of double the purchase price of products or service from the seller or service provider against their defraud.

Article 90 states that it is the duty of government to promote the international rule of law.

Article 97 states that a defence force exists to defend the Kingdom and its interests and to maintain and promote the international rule of law ; Subarticle 2 determines that the supreme authority over this defence force is exercised by the government ; there is thus no constitutional supreme commander.

Government has to inform the States-General about any intended foreign deployment of Dutch forces outside of defence treaty obligations, thus to protect the international rule of law and for humanitarian missions ( Article 100 ).

President Narayanan returned for reconsideration the advices from the Union cabinet to impose President's rule in a state, in accordance with Article 356, in two instances: one from the Gujral government ( 22 October 1997 ) seeking to dismiss the Kalyan Singh government in Uttar Pradesh, and the other from the Vajpayee government ( 25 September 1998 ) seeking to dismiss the Rabri Devi government in Bihar.

Taonga have constitutional significance in New Zealand, as the second Article of the Treaty of Waitangi guaranteed that the Māori signatories would retain the possession and enjoyment of their taonga under British rule.

The group released the St Petersburg Declaration, which urges world governments to, among other things, reject Sharia law, fatwa courts, clerical rule, and state-sanctioned religion in all their forms ; and to oppose all penalties for blasphemy and apostasy, which they believe to be in violation of Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Article 107 lays down a general rule that the state may not aid or subsidize private parties in distortion of free competition and provides exemptions for charities, regional development objectives and in the event of a natural disaster.
