In June 1865, at Sheridan's behest, Custer accepted command of the 2nd Division of Cavalry, Military Division of the Southwest, to march from Alexandria, Louisiana, to Hempstead, Texas, as part of the Union occupation forces.

" A contrary view has been published by historian Eric J. Wittenberg, who notes that of four major strategic raids ( Richmond, Trevilian, Wilson-Kautz, and First Deep Bottom ) and thirteen major cavalry engagements of the Overland and Richmond – Petersburg campaigns, only Yellow Tavern can be considered a Union victory, with Haw's Shop, Trevilian Station, Meadow Bridge, Samaria Church, and Wilson-Kautz defeats in which some of Sheridan's forces barely avoided destruction.

Fortunately, the planet and Londo are spared when Sheridan's assault at Coriana forces the Vorlons to summon away their remaining ships.

John Sheridan's forces approach Earth, the fighting grows more fierce.

Over the next several weeks, Sheridan's forces began a systematic campaign against Clark's forces.

Clark planned to trap Sheridan's forces with advanced model destroyers which had been fitted with Shadow technology, but the plans were revealed to Ivanova by defecting EarthForce officers.

This escape pod had a duty officer who knew Clark was planning to ambush Sheridan's forces at sector 300.

Ivanova asked Sheridan to command the final battle from the Agamemnon to give a legitimate appearance to Sheridan's forces.

Following the battle at Proxima III, the Vesta joined Sheridan's fleet and fought in a number of engagements against Clark's forces.

Rodes and Gordon prepared to attack Sheridan's forces when Rodes was struck in the back of his head by a Union shell fragment.

Meade had employed Sheridan's forces primarily in the traditional role of screening and reconnaissance, whereas Sheridan saw the value of wielding the Cavalry Corps as an independently operating offensive weapon for wide ranging raids into the rear areas of the enemy.

These problems, in combination with the lack of suitable targets, resulted in the Sheridan's deployment to South Vietnam without the complex missile system.

However, Sheridan's actions are disrupting their timescales and giving Clark a real enemy makes him more paranoid.

However, many EarthForce vessels remained loyal to Clark, and as a result numerous battles took place, but in each battle Sheridan's more advanced White Star ships were able to disable the Earth warships, as Sheridan refrained from destroying those ships.

In an effort to undermine Sheridan's supporters on Earth, Clark began to spread propaganda that Sheridan was under sinister alien ( especially Minbari ) influence.

To prevent the planet from being devastated, Sheridan's fleet-including EarthForce ships which had been fighting for Clark at Mars-destroyed the defense grid before any damage was done to the planet.

When the Agamemnon and the rest of Sheridan's fleet arrived at Earth, the Senate rose up and went to arrest Clark.

Sheridan's massive winter campaign involved six cavalry regiments accompanied by frontier scouts such as Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Ben Clark and Jack Stilwell.

When he learns that Sheridan is missing, he calls in Sheridan's old ship, the powerful Omega-Class destroyer Agamemnon, to assist with the search.

Sheridan's plan was to surround the Destroyers with his technologically-superior White Star warships and force them to surrender or face destruction.

When Kosh died, Sheridan had a dream in which Kosh represented himself using an image of Sheridan's father.
