Bach in Leipzig, such as Wilhelm Friedmann Bach, Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach and Johann Friedrich Agricola, as well as those composers who performed under his direction in Leipzig ( Christoph Graupner, Johann David Heinichen and Johann Georg Pisendel ), composers of the Berlin lieder school, and finally, his numerous pupils, none of whom, however, became major composers.

1670 ), however, a distinctly German style came only after 1700 in the works of Silvius Leopold Weiss ( 1686 – 1750 ), one of the greatest lute composers, some of whose works were transcribed for keyboard by none other than Johann Sebastian Bach ( 1685 – 1750 ), who composed a few pieces for the lute himself ( although it is unclear whether they were really intended for the lute, rather than another plucked string instrument or the lautenwerk ).

The engraving of the copper plates for the printed edition would however have started shortly before the composer's death, according to contemporary sources, but it is unlikely that Bach had any real supervision in that preparation of the printed edition, due to his illness at the time.

It is, however, common performance practice, especially in the German Baroque idiom, to tune certain works to Chorton, approximately a semitone higher than A-440 ( 460 – 470 Hz ) ( e. g., Pre-Leipzig period cantatas of Bach ).

He was one of the most important German composers of the 17th century, a friend of Dieterich Buxtehude and a major influence on Johann Sebastian Bach, however, very few works of his survive to this day.

Bach tended to favor the middle and lowest registers, however, perhaps because they are the most characteristic ones for this instrument.

There is no official confirmation however that he is in any way based on him, as he doesn't really look like Rose, but more like ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach or Poison's vocalist Bret Michaels.
