The first four robot novels The Caves of Steel ( 1953 ), The Naked Sun ( 1956 ), The Robots of Dawn ( 1983 ), and Robots and Empire ( 1985 ) make up the Elijah Baley ( sometimes " Lije Baley ") series, and are mysteries starring the Terran Elijah Baley and his humaniform robot partner, R. Daneel Olivaw.
However, in The Robots of Dawn, Baley recalls his mother cajoling him to eat her chicken soup and telling him that even the Spacers did not have anything as good.
In the 1988 Kodak VCR game Isaac Asimov's Robots, Baley was played by Steven Rowe.
It was not until a mention of her in The Robots of Dawn, Asimov's third Elijah Baley Robot novel, that the events of her era ( the 21st century ) were concretely tied into those of Baley's era, at least two-and-a-half millennia further into the future, and thus into the greater Foundation universe as a whole.
