The band's fourth album, Charango, was released in 2002, and spawned several singles including " Otherwise ," " Way Beyond ," and " Undress Me Now " ( the release of the latter was cancelled, despite the creation and release of an expensive, erotic Balinese-inspired CGI video ).

Gramm ended up rejoining Foreigner ( bringing along his Shadow King bandmate bassist Bruce Turgon ) and produced the band's second greatest hits album, The Very Best of ... and Beyond ( September 1992 ), which included three new songs.

The band's second full length album Beyond the Veil was released in 1999.

The band's humorous approach was also evidenced by a song frequently performed live from 1997, entitled " Far Beyond Metal ", a parody of classic heavy metal.

A guitarist William Tang ( 鄧煒謙 ) wished the band's name to convey a feeling of surpassing or going beyond themselves ( 超越 ), so the name " Beyond " was chosen.

Beyond Belief was huge, the band's most successful release ever, peaking at No. 1 on the Christian charts and certified Gold by the RIAA in 1995.

In June 1990, Beyond Salvation was released and became the band's first and only No. 1 album.

In the October 1977 Dominic Milano interview of Keith Emerson in Keyboard Magazine ( at that time called " Contemporary Keyboard Magazine "), and much later on the band's DVD Beyond the Beginning, Emerson said the solo was recorded in one take.

The setlist was partly based on a poll conducted on the band's website, which ( combined with the amount of time the band had ) led to a varied set with classics like " The Bard ’ s Song ( in the Forest )" but also some rarely played songs such as " Somewhere Far Beyond ".

On February 7, 2008 People In Planes released " Pretty Buildings ", the first song from Beyond the Horizon as an internet download through MySpace and the band's mailing list.

In addition, on this date the splash page of the band's website changed revealing Beyond the Horizon as the title of the album with a release date of September 9, 2008.

" Beyond containing the band's best, most efficient songwriting, the album also stands apart from the first three studio albums by projecting a cool punch that is unforced ," a reviewer commented.

The only song he ever wrote entirely on his own was " Mummy's Boy ", which appeared on the band's debut album One Step Beyond ....

The band's fourth and last video, for the song " Brave Beyond the Call " was filmed during this period.

Coined " Beyond Acid Jazz " by founder Mars Williams of The Psychedelic Furs and The Waitresses, and co-founded by guitarist Tommy Klein, the band's 2000 album Here's the Deal was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Jazz Album category.
