The 26th was later authorised to carry the battle honours " Blenheim ", " Ramillies ", " Oudenarde ", and " Malplaquet ", for its four most prominent engagements in the war ; however, these were not authorised until 1882, a year after the regiment had been amalgamated into the Cameronians ( Scottish Rifles ).
The battle honours " Blenheim ", " Ramillies ", " Oudenarde ", and " Malplaquet " were also granted to the 26th, but not until 1882 ; as such, it was only ever borne by its successor, the Cameronians ( Scottish Rifles ).
