Saint Bonaventure, O. F. M., (; 1221 – 15 July 1274 ), born Giovanni di Fidanza, was an Italian medieval scholastic theologian and philosopher.

The university is named after St. Bonaventure ( 1221 – 74 ), born John of Fidenza, who became a cardinal and Doctor of the Church.

Aristide Joseph Bonaventure Maillol ( December 8, 1861 – September 27, 1944 ) was a French Catalan sculptor, painter, and printmaker.

Spencer Bonaventure Tracy ( April 5, 1900 – June 10, 1967 ) was an American actor.

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Portman's first atrium hotel, would lead to many more iconic hotels and multi-use complexes with atria, including the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles ( 1974 – 1976 ), the New York Marriott Marquis ( 1982 – 1985 ), and the Renaissance Center in Detroit ( first phase 1973-1977 ), whose central tower has remained the tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere.

It was founded by Fathers Francis Haas ( 1826 – 1895 ) and Bonaventure Frey, two Swiss diocesan priests who arrived in the United States in September 1856, and were received into the then-Diocese of Milwaukee by Bishop John Henni, also a Swiss immigrant, and given charge of St. Nicholas Parish, which they renamed Mount Calvary.

Originally a Franciscan friar, he had been legate to the Greeks under Pope Gregory X in 1272, succeeded Bonaventure as Minister General of his religious order in 1274.

Bonaventure was instrumental in procuring the election of Pope Gregory X, who rewarded him with the title of Cardinal Bishop of Albano, and insisted on his presence at the great Council of Lyon in 1274.

Cività was the birthplace of Saint Bonaventure, who died in 1274.

In addition to the Navajo traditional beliefs men and Native American Church ( peyote way ), the Saint Bonaventure Catholic mission and several Protestant denominations are also active in Thoreau, including Baptists, Latter Day Saints ( Mormons ), Church of Christ, Church of God, and some independent evangelical congregations.
