CRDF Global is an "... independent nonprofit organization that promotes international scientific and technical collaboration ..." CRDF Global was authorized by the U. S. Congress in 1992 under the Freedom Support Act and established in 1995 by the National Science Foundation under the name U. S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation.

CRDF Global is based in Arlington, Virginia, and has offices in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia ; Kiev, Ukraine ; Almaty, Kazakhstan ; and Amman, Jordan.

CRDF Global also helps to move applied research to the marketplace by teaming U. S. companies with foreign scientists, and helps to strengthen research and education in universities abroad.

In 2012, CRDF Global will recognize three individuals for their scientific and humanitarian achievements: Mr. William H. Draper, III, General Partner of Draper Richards L. P and Co-Chairman of the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Dr. David A. Hamburg, President Emeritus at Carnegie Corporation of New York, former president of AAAS and the Institute of Medicine, and Dr. Charles M. Vest, President of the National Academy of Engineering and President Emeritus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He serves on the advisory council of CRDF Global.

He serves on the board of directors for CRDF Global and the American Iranian Council, an organization devoted to the normalization of relations between Iran and America.

Between 1995-2010, CRDF Global awarded nearly 3, 000 grants to more than 13, 000 scientists — including 2, 500 former weapons researchers — and has committed more than $ 105 million in total support.

In addition to its own funds, CRDF Global has been able to leverage more than $ 42 million in additional support from foreign governments ; as well as cash and in-kind contributions from participating American businesses.

In addition to its grantmaking, CRDF Global has a very popular service it provides to organizations seeking to conduct research collaborations abroad, called CRDF Solutions ( formerly GAP.

) Through this service, CRDF Global has facilitated more than 1, 100 individual projects, valued at over $ 195 million, on behalf of more than 180 business and industry, education and government clients.

CRDF Global supports foreign scientists and their U. S. counterparts in exceptional merit-reviewed research projects.

Season two's Carolyn Jarvis is now a news anchor for Global's newsmagazine series 16: 9, after having worked as an anchor for Global Edmonton, a local television station in Red Deer, and also was an anchor with The Weather Network.

Currently, this is Dial Global's Radio Network's " AC Pure " format.

Barry Welsh is Coming was broadcast only in Wales, as was Jeff Global's Global Probe ( both ITV Wales productions ) and Pub Quiz ( BBC ), in which he played the character Frank Hovis, originally devised for the Absolutely series.

The Maritimes are located in the Atlantic Time Zone, which is one hour ahead of the Eastern Time Zone, where Global's CIII Toronto is located.

Nonetheless the station sometimes carries various Canadian-made programs from the library of Global's parent company Shaw Media, though this is generally restricted to older programming ( or at least older seasons ) not currently airing on the Global network schedule.

Like with U. S. television, many stations use varied titles for their newscasts ; this is particularly true with owned-and-operated stations of Global and Citytv ( Global's stations use titles based on daypart such as News Hour for the noon and early evening newscasts and News Final for 11 p. m. newscasts, while all six Citytv-owned broadcast stations produce morning news / talk programs under the umbrella title Breakfast Television and its flagship station CITY-DT / Toronto's evening newscasts are titled CityNews ).

The station is currently owned by Mapleton Communications and features programing from Dial Global's syndicated America's Best Music format.

For example, production of Global's national newscast is controlled from its Vancouver O & O, while CTV's network headquarters are co-located with CFTO at 9 Channel Nine Court in Scarborough, Ontario ( the address refers to CFTO's over-the-air channel number ).

This is especially noticeable on Global's Premier track and Reise's Bonus track.
