Canon 13 of the Quinisext Council ( Constantinople, 692 ) shows that by that time there was a direct contradiction between the ideas of East and West about the legitimacy of conjugal relations on the part of clergy lower than the rank of bishop who had married before being ordained:

Canon 9 of the Council declared: " If a bishop or clergyman should have a difference with the metropolitan of the province, let him have recourse to the Exarch of the Diocese, or to the throne of the Imperial City of Constantinople, and there let it be tried.

In light of this questioning of the canon of Scripture by Protestants in the 16th century, the ( Roman Catholic ) Council of Trent reaffirmed the traditional western canon ( i. e., the canon accepted at the 4th-century Council of Rome and Council of Carthage ), thus making the Canon of Trent and the Vulgate Bible dogma in the Catholic Church.

He received his doctorate in theology in 1836 and doctorates of civil and Canon Law in Rome also.

There are claims that he was the Canon of the Benedictine Priory of Saint Peter in Erfurt, Germany but according to John Maxson Stillman, who wrote on the history of chemistry, there is no evidence of such a name on the rolls in Germany or Rome and no mention of this name before 1600.

In 1805, Canon Francesco De Lucia requested relics for a new altar, and on 8 June obtained the remains discovered in May 1802 ( reduced to dust and fragments ) for his church in Mugnano del Cardinale, where they arrived on 11 August, after being taken from Rome to Naples on 1 July.
