In the season five ( 2001 ) episode " Scott Tenorman Must Die ", Cartman, feeling cheated out of $ 16. 12 by a local eighth-grader named Scott Tenorman, successfully executes an elaborate scheme to publicly humiliate Scott in front of his favorite band Radiohead, by tricking Scott's parents into getting murdered and then tricking Scott into eating them.

Cartman is shown at times to be pure evil, claiming himself to have ground a kid's parents up into chili, and then fed it to the kid because Cartman didn't like him, and then to proceed to boastfully taunt the kid without any remorse.

Connor then " dies " ( Cartman makes it look like she " flutters away " into the wind ), and everyone goes away except for the boys.

Kyle then asks Cartman to explain Mitch Connor.

Kyle at first is reluctant but then hits Cartman only once ( barely ), causing him to scream and cry very loudly and cry for his mother.

The three of them then travel to Bentonville to stop the Wall-Mart, but are joined by Cartman, whom the Wall-Mart " told " to stop them.

Kenny is then assigned to hold Cartman off while Stan and Kyle enter the Wall-Mart.

They begin to feel ' stoned ', then have weird hallucinations, seeing each other as monstrous grotesques ( including Kyle having the head of a wolf and massive yellow eyes, and Cartman being a shapeless blob of fat ).

The rest of the town then pleads with Cartman to rid the town of the hippies.

Cartman then uploads the Slayer song " Raining Blood " into the speakers ( as Cartman reasons, " hippies can't stand death metal ").

Cartman then pulls out a knife and tells Kyle that he has plans for him.

Kyle is then forced to watch Cartman having fun with his Tonka bulldozer in the school parking lot.

Kyle then realizes they should not have made this issue into such a media circus, and concludes that Kenny should be taken off life support, commenting that Cartman was " right, for the wrong reasons ", while he and Stan were " wrong, for the right reasons ".

Kyle then calls Cartman a fatass instead, causing him to throw the rock at Token, giving him a black eye in the process, much to Kyle's shock.

Cartman then discovers that when the semen they recovered has been added to the Sea People aquarium, it combines with the Brine Shrimp to create an intelligent race of actual sea people.

Now genuinely traumatized, Butters accepts that he has been imagining Cartman's visits, but then Cartman breaks into the asylum to get his help again.

They then see Cartman disguised as Scuzzlebutt and start shooting at him.

After a brief fight, Cartman exposes all of Miss Struthers's hoarding of the food supply to the Ethiopians, who then take control of the food supply.

Also in the classroom, when it is suggested some poor people would rather die than go to a poorhouse, Cartman says, " Well then perhaps they should-and decrease the surplus population!

Cartman then takes a more diplomatic approach, stating that he understands Kyle's decision, but wishes to remain friends.

Cartman then begins working to get rid of Butters.

The next morning Cartman awakes to find in his bed a naked Affleck, who announces that he and " Ms. Lopez " made love all night.

South Park Elementary teacher Mr. Garrison announces that Cartman has won the school's " Save Our Fragile Planet " essay contest, much to the anger of his classmate Wendy Testaburger, who immediately suspects him of cheating.

A terrified Stan announces to Kyle, Kenny, Cartman and Butters that Trent Boyett, a notorious bully from their preschool years, is being released from juvenile hall after a five year sentence.

In an action King's College philosophy professor David Kyle Johnson describes as " directed either toward accomplishing his own happiness or the unhappiness of others ", Cartman often feigns actual friendship with his classmates when needing a favor.

The counselor insists, as the real-life interventionists often do, that all parties be allowed to " say whatever they need to say " to one another during the course of the actual intervention, which leads to Cartman endlessly harassing Kyle with insults and racial / ethnic / religious slurs.

Travis Pickett of IGN gave it a 8. 5 rating, especially praising Trey Parker and Matt Stone for managing to contrast the episode with the actual Simpsons ( with themes like Cartman performing fellatio on " some guy in an alley "), while respectfully paying their dues.

The voice used by the supposedly actual Adolf Hitler in the educational video shown to Cartman is based on Monty Python alum John Cleese's Hitler impression, which both Parker and Stone particularly praised.

Cartman receives Ants in the Pants, an actual children's tabletop game, as a birthday present.

But after seeing the chaos that the eccentric hippies are creating, the mayor is ridden with guilt and shoots herself in the head ( she survives and appears later in the strategy room when Cartman is enacting his plan ).

Cartman, terrified about Butters ' plan of revenge searches desperately for the tape but to no avail.

Cartman hears police will be checking bomb shelters, potentially ruining his plan.

Knowing that his plan failed, Cartman makes a mad dash through the restaurant to sample every attraction and food in the single moment of freedom he has left.

Cartman tells Stan and Kyle of his plan to get Scott's penis bit off at a chili cook-off, which Radiohead would arrive at and see him crying, making them think lowly of Scott.

Cartman tells Scott that he told Stan and Kyle about his plan because he knew they would betray him and warn Scott.

The boys want to find a way to get back at them, and when Cartman succeeds in his efforts to discover the legendary " brown noise ", a sound made with the recorder that causes the listener to lose control of their bowels and " crap their pants ", the boys plan to trick the New York kids into playing it.

The group was inspired by the season nine ( 2005 ) episode " Ginger Kids ", in which Cartman incites prejudice towards those with red hair, pale skin, and freckles, a group he calls " Gingers " and claims are inherently evil and without souls.

* Only 7 months after the episodes premiere, in November 1998, the CD Chef Aid: The South Park Album was released, where a professionally produced cover version of " Come Sail Away " sung by Cartman has been included.

When the character of Kenny McCormick was temporarily written off the show near the end of the fifth season ( 2001 ), Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, and Cartman allow Butters into their group as the " fourth friend ", a role he continued to fill until midway through season six.

In the final flashback, Cartman recalls identifying his father, but he remembers it incorrectly with his father being John Elway ( it is revealed twelve seasons later that Cartman's father indeed was a Denver Bronco, but not John Elway ).

When corrected by Kyle (" I thought your father was your mother ' cause she had a penis "), Cartman is angered, and moves to the back of the bus to attack Kyle.

Cartman explains that it was a " wardrobe malfunction ," and the episode ends with the other three boys addressing the issue that adults are more offended by sex over violence, allowing them to keep their weapons.

Years later, in the episode " 201 ", Cartman would discover that Mr. Tenorman, a former Denver Bronco, was his own father as well.

He denies that they knew he was against them, but Kyle angrily begins yelling at him that he knew Cartman was against them all along, while Cartman continues to talk about why he was against them.

" Having an episode's worth of story told in front of the class was later used in the eighth season episode " Woodland Critter Christmas ", which has Cartman telling a Christmas themed story ( in a plot twist ).

Cartman pleads with the mayor to stop the festival, but it turns out that the mayor was the one who permitted the music festival in the first place thinking it would make the town some money.

Everything that had happened so far in the episode was merely a Christmas-themed story that Cartman had written and was reading to the class.

Assuming that the rock was thrown because of racism and not provocation, the government tries Cartman in a federal court.

In the season 4 episode " The Wacky Molestation Adventure ", Cartman was supposed to block out the sun, but one writer pointed out that " The Simpsons already did it.

South Park was parodied in a 2003 Simpsons episode, " The Bart of War ", showing a scene with the four South Park boys Stan, Kyle, and Cartman drawn in Simpsons style, with Marge disapproving of Bart and Milhouse's apparent enjoyment of " cartoon violence ", and the latter two contemplating about adults voicing children's characters.

When they leave, Cartman now realizes that he was merely being ignored and is outraged.

The idea of having Cartman eat the skin off of an entire tub of fried chicken came from a similar script meeting one evening when Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and the remaining writing staff were sitting around a table having a bucket of KFC chicken for dinner while they discussed ideas and someone mentioned how terrible it would be if someone stole all the skins when everyone else was out of the room.

While " Cartman Gets an Anal Probe " was created almost entirely with construction paper, " Weight Gain 4000 " was the first South Park episode made completely using computers.
