Saint Catherine of Siena, T. O. S. D, ( 25 March 1347 in Siena – 29 April 1380 in Rome ) was a tertiary of the Dominican Order, and a Scholastic philosopher and theologian.

When stopped by the Roman guards, they prayed to St Catherine to help them, confident that she would rather have her body ( or at least part thereof ) in Siena.

The basilica also houses many funerary monuments including the tombs of Doctor of the Church Saint Catherine of Siena ( 1347-1380 ), who was a member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic, and the Dominican friar Blessed John of Fiesole ( Fra Giovanni da Fiesole, born Guido di Piero ) better known as Fra Angelico ( c. 1395-1455 ).

Their one monastery was on the top of Monte Varese, near Lago Maggiore, on the spot where their foundress, the Blessed Catarina Morigia ( or Catherine of Palanza ), had first led a solitary life.

His second wife was Kay Marvis ( m. 1945 – 51 ), née Catherine Dittig, former wife of Leo Gorcey.

His third wife was Emilie of Saxony ( July 27, 1516 – March 9, 1591 ), daughter of Henry IV, Duke of Saxony and Catherine of Mecklenburg on August 25, 1533:

In 1891, Wells married his cousin Isabel Mary Wells ; the couple agreed to separate in 1894 when he fell in love with one of his students, Amy Catherine Robbins ( known as Jane ), whom he married in 1895.

Peter I was succeeded by his second wife ( Catherine I, 1725 – 1728 ) who was merely a figure-head for a powerful group of high officials, then by his minor grandson ( Peter II, 1728 – 1730 ), then by his niece, Anna, daughter of Tsar Ivan V. In 1741 Elizabeth, daughter of Peter, seized the throne, assisted by the Preobrazhensky Regiment.

There are several other ports positioned around the island, including the alumina ports, Port Esquivel in St. Catherine ( WINDALCO ), Rocky Point in Clarendon and Port Kaiser in St. Elizabeth.
