Aeschbacher's work is very much akin to Schnabel's, but the sound on his Decca disc is dated, and you will have a hard time locating a copy of it.

The design of GPS is based partly on similar ground-based radio-navigation systems, such as LORAN and the Decca Navigator developed in the early 1940s, and used during World War II.

This company, formed in 1997 from three well-known brand names in the marine industry — Sperry Marine, Decca, and C. Plath — is now part of Northrop Grumman Corporation.

The Decca label is currently in use by Universal Music Group worldwide ; this is possible because Universal Studios ( which officially dropped the MCA name after the Seagram buyout in 1997 ) acquired PolyGram, British Decca's parent company in 1998, thus consolidating Decca trademark ownership.

Today, Decca is a leading label for both classical music and Broadway scores although it is branching out into pop music from established recording stars: its most recent hit was Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA ( 2007 ) by Boyz II Men, which reached No. 27 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

The Decca Label Group is the US label whereas the London-based Decca Music Group runs the international classical and pop releases by such world famous performers as Andrea Bocelli and Hayley Westenra.

Ironically, the American Decca classical music catalogue is managed by sister Universal label Deutsche Grammophon.

The American Decca rock / pop catalogue is managed by Geffen Records.

The Decca Broadway imprint is used for both newly recorded musical theatre songs and Universal Music Group's vast catalogues of musical theatre recordings from record labels UMG and predecessor companies acquired over the years.

In a reversal of the usual situation, in which American Decca had released original Broadway cast albums of three Rodgers and Hammerstein shows, this was the only film soundtrack album of a Rodgers and Hammerstein show ever released by Decca, while the Broadway cast album had been released by Columbia Masterworks.

Decca released the stereo recordings of Ernest Ansermet conducting L ' Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, including, in 1959, the first stereo LP album of the complete Nutcracker, as well as Ansermet's only stereo version of Manuel de Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat, which the conductor had led at its first performance in 1919.

Decca started recording in stereo on 14 – 28 May 1954, in Victoria Hall in Geneva, the first European record company to do so, only three months after RCA Victor began recording in stereo in the U. S. Decca archives show that Ernest Ansermet and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande recorded Tamara by Mily Balakirev ; the overture to Benvenuto Cellini by Hector Berlioz ; Stenka Razin by Alexander Glazunov ; and Anatoly Liadov's Baba-Yaga, Eight Russian Folksongs, and Kikimora.

Their debut album The Magnificent Moodies, produced by Denny Cordell with a strong Merseybeat / R & B flavour, was released on Decca in mono only in 1965.

Instrumental to the sisters ' success over the years were their parents, Olga and Peter ; their orchestra leader and musical arranger, Vic Schoen ( 1916 – 2000 ); music publishing giant Lou Levy, who died only days after Maxene, and was their manager from 1937 – 51 and was also Maxene's husband from 1941 – 49 ; and both Jack Kapp ( d. 1949 ) and his brother David Kapp, who founded Decca Records. Maxene was the mother of 2 children, Mark ( born -) & Shianne ( born ).

Decca released it as a single that November, but it sold only 5, 000 copies, and did not do much better when it was released again in 1959.

After several recordings of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven with the Gürzenich for a French subscription collection in the mid 1950s, he made no studio recordings for nearly two decades with the exception of an appearance with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on Decca Records, accompanying Wilhelm Backhaus in Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto ( his only recording with that orchestra ).

Almost to the end of her life, Flagstad continued to sing in fine voice, although she increasingly sang mezzo-soprano material or in a mezzo range: besides the Rheingold Fricka ( a mezzo role ), Decca planned to cast her also as the Walkure Fricka and the Gotterdammerung Waltraute for its complete Ring ( in the event, the roles were sung by others ), and also to record her in Brahms ’ Four Serious Songs and Alto Rhapsody ; that these plans were shelved only by her final illness and death stands as a testament to her superbly consistent vocal abilities, and to the respect and affection in which she was held to the end by record companies and the public.

He was with the band when they recorded " Rock Around the Clock " in 1954, and Williamson had the distinction of being the only Comet allowed to record lead vocal tracks during Haley's tenure at Decca Records ( such as the song " Hide and Seek " on their 1956 album, Rock and Roll Stage Show.

She succeeded in reaching the popularity charts only in 1951 with three recordings she made for Decca Records.

Although she was under contract with the Decca label, many of her recording projects fell through for various reasons, and her only Decca recording is Suzuki in Puccini's Madama Butterfly with Renata Tebaldi in the title role.
