Dikshit was dubbed an outsider when she first became Delhi's Chief Minister.

In 1998, she made software engineer Anurag Dikshit a partner in her business, which later became known as PartyGaming Plc.

As Chief Minister of Delhi, Dikshit was awarded the Best Chief Minister of India, by Journalist Association of India on 12 July 2008.

Sheila Dikshit was born in Kapurthala in the Punjab state of India.

Dikshit was married to late Shri Vinod Dikshit, who had worked in the Indian Administrative Service ( IAS ).

Dikshit was accused of corruption regarding the 2010 Commonwealth games.

Dikshit defended her decision to sign the parole papers, declaring nothing " illegal or unlawful " was done in extending the benefit to the prisoner.

Dikshit has two children including a son, Sandeep Dikshit, who is a Member of Parliament ( MP ) from East Delhi as a representative of the Indian National Congress.

Dikshit also chaired the Implementation Committee for Commemoration of Forty Years of India's Independence and Jawaharlal Nehru centenary.

In 2009, Delhi lokayukta investigated a complaint filed by advocate Sunita Bhardwaj, a BJP worker, saying that Dikshit misused Rs 3. 5 crore received from the Central government under the Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission for Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojana to give out personal advertisements.

The complainant then sought to book Dikshit under the Representation of People ’ s Act, claiming she had been " misrepresenting facts " about the flats her government had built for the urban poor.

On November 2009, Dikshit came under criticism for granting parole to Manu Sharma after media reports of him visiting night clubs in Delhi emerged.

" Dikshit pointed out Delhi Lt governor Tejinder Khanna, stating that he had not objected to the parole papers and had cleared the file paving way for Sharma's parole.

Following graduation, Dikshit worked as a software developer in the United States at CMC, as a systems analyst for Websci and later as a consultant for AT & T.

In 2000, Dikshit hired a friend from his alma mater, Vikrant Bhargava, to begin working at PartyGaming with him and others.

Henry had referred to Delhi Commonwealth Games organiser Sheila Dikshit as " the dip shit woman " and " Dick Shit ", going on to state that " it's so appropriate, because she's Indian, so she'd be dick-in-shit wouldn't she, do you know what I mean?

Sheila Dikshit ( born 31 March 1938 ) is an Indian politician who has served as Chief Minister of Delhi since 1998.

Dikshit represents the New Delhi constituency in the Legislative Assembly of Delhi.

At present, there are 14 faculties, 86 academic departments and 79 colleges spread all over the city, with 132435 regular students and 261169 students in non-formal education programmes and the annual honorary degrees ( Honoris causa ) of the University have been conferred upon several distinguished people, including Amitabh Bachchan, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Cardiologist Dr. Jayantibhai Patel, cartoonist R. K. Laxman and scientist CNR Rao ( 2006 ); and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown ( 2008 ).

On 10 October 2010, following Henry's controversial comments about the New Zealand Governor General, Sir Anand Satyanand, and the Delhi chief minister, Sheila Dikshit, TVNZ announced that Henry had resigned.

Born in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, Dikshit graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1994.

Asked about the high court's criticism of the decision, Dikshit justified her position, saying " whatever files I receive, they come through proper channels.
