Although Dio is the earliest writer to mention them, Ammianus Marcellinus used the name to refer to Germans on the Limes Germanicus in the time of Trajan's governorship of the province shortly after it was formed, circa 98 / 99.

The tale of Cassius Dio is also somewhat different.

Finally, although Dio states that Crassus was voted a Triumph in Rome by the Senate, there is no evidence in inscriptions of that year ( 27 BC ) that it was actually celebrated.

In March 2011 it was announced that Rex had formed a new band, Kill Devil Hill with Vinny Appice ( Heaven & Hell, Black Sabbath, Dio ) on drums, Mark Zavon ( RATT, W. A. S. P., 40 Cycle Hum ) on guitar and Dewey Bragg ( Pissing Razors ) on vocals.

At the 2011 local government reform Dio merged with the former municipalities East Olympos and Litochoro to form the new municipality Dio-Olympos.

The 1968 film Joko Invoca Dio ... I Muori AKA Vengeance, directed by Antonio Margheriti, is another favorite among spaghetti western fans.

Apparently, according to an interview with Dio in 2005, during filming of this music video, Ronnie James Dio became friends with Tenacious D frontman Jack Black, who told Dio about his plans to make a Tenacious D film and asked him to perform in the film if anything became of it.

In 2005, Dio received a letter from Jack Black informing him that production of the film was starting and requested that he play himself.
