Doomsday's skeleton protrudes through his skin in razor-sharp spurs which provide protection to his few vital organs ( brain, eyes, nervous system ), and act as clawlike weapons on his hands, elbows, and knees.

In the game, Lex Luthor has done an experiment where he has experimented on its citizens using Exobytes and Doomsday's DNA with Doomsday being trapped in a containment building near the Kent Family Farm.

In the " Smallville Alert ," LexCorp has been doing an experiment that involves using Doomsday's DNA on some of Smallville's citizens resulting in them becoming Doomsday-like creatures.

There, a terminally-wounded Brainiac transferred his consciousness into Doomsday's body, temporarily becoming the most powerful being in the universe ; a genius psychic mind inside an unstoppable, indestructible titan.

However, Doomsday's own raging mind would eventually overwhelm Brainiac's will, and he reacted too quickly for Brainiac and Vnok to erase his mind using chemical or psionic treatments, forcing Brainiac to find another body.

While still lodged in Doomsday's head, Brainiac decided to acquire a sample of human DNA that he could modify with Doomsday's DNA to create a new version of Doomsday that did not possess the creature's mind.

Superman thwarted Brainiac's plot by driving him out of Doomsday's body with the use of a telepathy-blocking ' psi-blocker ' that he had used in his last battle, forcing Brainiac out of Doomsday and leaving him with no other option but to adopt a recently-designed robotic body, dubbed Brainiac 2. 5, where he would be forever trapped as he could not abandon it.

One of these four, a half-man / half-machine who greatly resembled Superman with cybernetic implants where he had sustained the greatest amount of damage from Doomsday's blows took custody of Doomsday's apparently lifeless body.

Eventually, after passing through a wormhole, Doomsday's asteroid was accidentally found by a deep-space scavenger ship.

This was to be the setup for a final showdown between Doomsday and Superman, who had been uneasy about the possibility of Doomsday's resurrection.

Superman, while knowing this — having been filled in on Doomsday's history by the time-manipulating Waverider — was obsessed with stopping Doomsday and followed him to Calaton.

However, unable to erase Doomsday's consciousness with drugs as he reacted too fast for the process to work, and with his strength of will too strong for Brainiac to permanently overwhelm him on his own, Brainiac instead opted to use a human host to genetically engineer a Doomsday clone without the mind while temporarily lodging in the original's head until he would be forced out.

It is shown that Doomsday's skeleton was retrieved and his flesh regrown by Lex Luthor ( using Superman's Kryptonian DNA ), who handed Doomsday over to Darkseid to repay Earth's war debt to Apokolips.

Despite being weakened by kryptonite exposure when Luthor attempted to exploit Doomsday's Kryptonian origins, Superman's heart was restarted by Black Lightning and he reached Doomsday just as the monster was struggling with the Martian Manhunter.

Doomsday's short freedom was quickly halted by Steel in the Entropy Aegis, an armor with incredible power that had been built out of the remains of an Imperiex probe.

After the fight, Doomsday's mangled corpse ends up in the hands of General Sam Lane, who is currently in charge of a mysterious government agency determined to halt the Kryptonian " invasion " of Earth.

Labs, Superman's allies use the original Doomsday's body to try to find a way to stop the Doomsday clones.

As Eradicator and the heroes ' attack the Doomsday clones, he warns that Doomsday's mind is beginning to awaken.

Superman once used a sound gun to greatly discomfort him, but Doomsday's auditory canals closed up, making him impervious to Superman's weapon.

During his battle with the Cyborg-Superman, the Cyborg tears through portions of Doomsday's body, which are quickly replaced with cyborg parts of his own.

Fortunately, General Adam takes Booster Gold back to the base for interrogation, allowing Booster Gold to escape when the sight of " Project Superman " causes Doomsday's true personality to resurface again.

In this series, Prin Vnok, an underling of Brainiac uses his technology to travel to the End of Time to retrieve Doomsday in order to combine the beast's massive power with Brainiac's formidable intellect after his original body was badly injured in his last fight with Superman ( this was later revealed to have taken place due to the timeline's reconstruction following the events of ' Zero Hour '; the reconstruction of time meant that Brainiac was able to change the events of Doomsday's defeat ).

( Steel was later saved thanks to the actions of the Black Racer and Darkseid, who escaped after ' reprogramming ' Doomsday's mind for a time so that Doomsday's hatred for Superman was redirected toward the Imperiex probes.

In Superman: The Doomsday War ( 1998 ), Doomsday's mind is under the influence of Brainiac, forcing Superman to fight two of his most powerful enemies at once in order to rescue Lana Lang's newborn child, Doomsday easily defeating the current Justice League before Superman is able to force Brainiac's mind out of Doomsday and trap him in four teleporters locked in a perpetual loop to prevent him being integrated enough to think of a way to escape.

Recognizing the danger of Doomsday's existence, Waverider showed Superman a detailed vision of the past to explain the circumstances of Doomsday's origin as a genetically-engineered being capable of evolving to overcome anything that proved capable of killing him, as well as discovering that Doomsday's hatred of Superman was due to Doomsday's traumatic origins on Krypton leaving him with a deeply-rooted hatred of Kryptonians.

In the end, Superman thwarted Brainiac's plot by driving him out of Doomsday's body via the use of a telepathy-blocking ' psi-blocker '.

During the battle in Coast City, Booster Gold discovers that Doomsday is controlled by General Nathaniel Adam, Booster Gold escapes from Doomsday and then saves a woman named Alexandra Gianopoulos from Doomsday's attack.

She co-starred in two graphic novels — Fury / Black Widow: Death Duty with Nick Fury, Marvel UK's Night Raven and Punisher / Black Widow: Spinning Doomsday's Web with the Punisher — as well as a three-issue arc, " The Fire Next Time ", by writer Scott Lobdell and penciller Randy Green, in Journey into Mystery # 517 – 519 ( Feb .– April 1998 ).

Assisted by Waverider, he confronts Darkseid and Hank Henshaw, finds that his killer is still alive, and discovers the details of Doomsday's origin as a genetically-engineered life-form created by the Kryptonians of the distant past, inspiring the planet's interest in genetic engineering.

It's strongly implied by Maxwell's dialogue that the high body count left during Doomsday's march on Metropolis, the utter destruction of Coast City ( and there, Maxwell Lord's mother's death ) have bolstered his need to keep the metahumans in check, and his strong belief that whenever metahuman fight, common people have to suffer.

Shortly afterward, Bibbo encounters a young man who, his family rendered homeless by Doomsday's rampage, is blatantly selling " Death of Superman " commemorative souvenirs during a public commemoration honoring the Man of Steel.

She starred in the solo graphic novel Black Widow: The Coldest War ( April 1990 ), and co-starred in three more: Punisher / Black Widow: Spinning Doomsday's Web ( Dec. 1992 ); Daredevil / Black Widow: Abattoir ( July 1993 ); and Nick Fury / Black Widow: Death Duty ( June 1995 ), also co-starring Marvel UK's Night Raven.

In the three issue miniseries Superman / Doomsday: Hunter / Prey ( 1994 ), Superman journeys to Apokolips and Calaton to find Doomsday's body.

When the villain Remnant attempted to create the impression of Superman as a devil, blaming him for the deaths caused in Doomsday's rampage, Superman confronted a reporter writing an article about the anniversary of his fight with Doomsday, asking him to consider one of the toughest questions ; if Superman wasn't around, would there be fewer Doomsdays ( monsters seeking to confront Superman ), or more Coast Citys ( A disaster that only happened because Superman wasn't there )?

Doomslayer believes the original Doomsday to be an infection, so it plans to destroy Earth, as it considers Earth to be ground zero for Doomsday's " infection ".

Booster Gold tries to prevent Doomsday from killing innocent people, and manages to put Doomsday's helmet back on.

Duffy discovers that many of Superman's rogues have claimed to have created Doomsday, and many survivors of Doomsday's rampage and Coast City's destruction he interviewed express hatred for the hero.

Duffy reproaches Superman, telling him that thousands have died due to his battle with Doomsday but people rarely ever acknowledge their deaths as they ' prefer ' to focus on Superman's revival, feeling that Superman's resurrection cheapened awareness of the others who died in Doomsday's rampage and the holocaust of Coast City.

Doomsday's control is restored to General Adam, who grabs Booster, hoping to kill him.

During the " Death of Superman " saga, the Blue Beetle and the other JLA members tried to stop Doomsday's path of destruction.

Superman then follows Doomsday's trail of destruction, waiting for an opportunity to attack.

Later on, Superman, Supergirl and Lois collaborate to film Clark Kent's rescue, Supergirl using her shapeshifting powers to pose as Clark Kent and create the impression that Clark was trapped in an underground bunker in Doomsday's initial attack, able to sustain himself on supplies in the bunker but unable to escape until Superman returned and was able to contribute his X-ray vision to the rescue effort.

After Superman's return, Anderson gathered survivors of Doomsday's rampage at the site where the creature first emerged to share their experiences through the internet, which Superman also responded.

Without any aid from his allies, Superman defeats the monster on the anniversary of his original defeat of the creature at Washington D. C., exploiting the fact that Doomsday's new intelligence also gives him a fear of death that he had previously lacked.
