In this position Cecil was Dudley's trusted right hand, who primed the Privy Council according to the Lord President's wishes.

Bradstreet took over Dudley's position when the latter moved temporarily to Boston in 1624.

Bradstreet was offered a position on Dudley's council, but refused.

Dudley's Council House in Priory Road was opened in 1935 by King George V, and was financed by the then Earl of Dudley, William Humble Eric Ward, to replace the original building from 1870.
