Back then, in 1991, things mainly concerned black metal and ideological Satanism ( not so much practical Satanism, but anyway ...) [...] It grew quickly to to become a sort of black metal army and kind of stood and fell with Euronymous and his shop.

During 1992 and 1993, Burzum recorded four albums ; however, in 1994 Vikernes was convicted and imprisoned for the murder of guitarist Øystein " Euronymous " Aarseth and the arson of three churches.

Burzum stayed as a solo project until 1994, when Vikernes was arrested for the murder of Euronymous and the burnings of several churches in Norway.

During the early 1990s when the band was known as Crush Evil, Euronymous, guitarist for the seminal black metal band Mayhem, was planning to stop Crush Evil from continuing.

The Holmenkollen Chapel was destroyed by arson in 1992 by black metal artists Varg Vikernes, Bård “ Faust ” Eithun and Øystein “ Euronymous ” Aarseth, but later rebuilt.

As such, Mayhem guitarist, Euronymous, is credited in the album liner notes even though he died two years before the album was written and recorded.

It was later reissued in 1993 by the newly renamed Deathlike Silence Productions as a joint venture with Euronymous ' Oslo specialist record shop Helvete.

He was found by Euronymous with slit wrists and a shotgun wound to the head.

Due to adverse media and police attention, Euronymous was forced around this time to close his scene focal point record shop Helvete.

In May 1994, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas was released and dedicated to Euronymous.

This was partly thanks to a new style of guitar playing developed by Snorre ' Blackthorn ' Ruch of Stigma Diabolicum / Thorns and Øystein ' Euronymous ' Aarseth of Mayhem, in which guitarists played full chords using all the strings of the guitar in place of " powerchords " using only two or three strings.

He was found with slit wrists and a shotgun wound to the head, by Mayhem guitarist Øystein ' Euronymous ' Aarseth.

Euronymous also founded an independent record label called Deathlike Silence Productions, which was based at Helvete.

Shop-owner Euronymous was " the central figure involved in the formation of the Norwegian black metal scene ", which he " almost single-handedly founded ".

Faust claims that the name was invented by Euronymous.

First of all the so-called ' Black Circle ' was something Euronymous made up because he wanted to make people believe there was such a thing, but it was nonsense and never existed.

The label was founded by Øystein Aarseth, also known as Euronymous, who operated the label until his murder in 1993.

In 1994, Snorre was sentenced to 8 years in prison for " being an accomplice " in the murder of Euronymous.

The band was signed by Euronymous ' ( of Mayhem fame ) infamous label Deathlike Silence Records and released their first full-length album Scorn Defeat on DSP in 1993, shortly after Euronymous ' death.

but due to the suicide of vocalist Per " Dead " Ohlin and murder of guitarist Øystein " Euronymous " Aarseth, the album's release was delayed until May 1994.

This album spawned countless misconceptions for both the band and artist, most notably being labeled as a Nazi for including photographs of relatives of his that served in the Wehrmacht during WW2, this being meant as a dedication to his deceased family members, regardless of their political affiliations ; and being labeled as an avid Burzum supporter for the song " The Day that Burzum Killed Mayhem " which only retells the story of the murder of the Mayhem leader Euronymous by the hands of the Burzum sole member, Count Grishnackh.

Thus, after the suicide, Euronymous was the only original member left, and the only member besides drummer Hellhammer.

Within just a few months Helvete opening, many young musicians had become obsessed with Euronymous and his ideas, and soon a lot of Norwegian death metal bands transformed into black metal bands.

After Dead joined the group, the lyrics adopted darker topics, and Euronymous started rejecting most death metal bands as their lyrics turned towards " social awareness " and " normal " topics instead of death worship ; he " wanted things to be more serious and extreme ".

Back than, SALEM were in very good relations with Mayhem ` s founder Euronymous who offered SALEM relocation to Norway and joining the black metal inner circle.

Its release had been delayed due to complaints filed by Euronymous ' parents, who had objected to the presence of bass guitar parts played by Vikernes.

The creature is now mostly known by association with the contemporary Norwegian musician " Euronymous ", who took his stage name from this figure.

To record the new album, Euronymous recruited Attila Csihar ( who performed with Tormentor ) as vocalist and Varg Vikernes ( who performed solo as Burzum ) as bassist.

Inspired by groups such as Venom, Slayer, Motörhead and Celtic Frost, Mayhem were founded in 1984 by guitarist and vocalist Øystein Aarseth ( known initially as " Destructor ", later " Euronymous "), bassist Jørn Stubberud (" Necrobutcher "), and drummer Kjetil Manheim, taking their band name from the Venom song " Mayhem with Mercy ".

Additionally, Vikernes defends that most of Euronymous ' cut wounds were caused by broken glass he had fallen on during the struggle.

By 1991, Dead and Euronymous were living in a house in the woods near Kråkstad, which was used as a place for the band to rehearse.

The feature film will focus on the relationship between legendary figures Varg Vikernes and Euronymous and the rest of the ' Black Circle ' as they wage war against the powers that be in their native country.

Partially due to the influence of Euronymous of the band Mayhem, Samoth left Thou Shalt Suffer and with Ihsahn, began writing music for a new band called Emperor ( in which he played drums ).

During May – June 1991, Euronymous opened a record shop which he called Helvete.

The leader of Mayhem, Øystein " Euronymous " Aarseth, clashed with the leader of another black metal band, Varg " Count Grishnackh " Vikernes ( leader of Burzum ).

The same year, Eilertsen and Ruch recorded the Grymyrk demo, which had a great impact on the black metal scene and, together with Mayhem guitarist Euronymous, coined the Norwegian black metal riffing, as Darkthrone drummer Fenriz points out.

Moreover, Euronymous claimed to have given these necklaces to musicians he deemed worthy, which was confirmed by other members of the Norwegian black metal scene.

Mayhem's career has been highly controversial, primarily due to their violent stage performances, the 1991 suicide of vocalist Per Yngve Ohlin (" Dead ") and 1993 murder of guitarist Øystein Aarseth (" Euronymous ") by former member Varg Vikernes (" Count Grishnackh "), also of Burzum.

After a long period of silence due to Ruch's imprisonment for being an accomplice in the murder of Euronymous, Thorns reappeared in 1999 with the split album Thorns vs. Emperor, consisting mainly of old Thorns songs performed by Emperor and vice versa.

Mentioned in the Satanic Bible, where the name is misspelled as Euronymous, Eurynomos is either a minor figure whose associated literature is lost to time, or possibly an invention by the painter Polygnotos:
