Lord Iddesleigh married Cecilia Frances Farrer ( d. 1910 ), daughter of Thomas Farrer and sister of Thomas Farrer, 1st Baron Farrer, in 1843.

In 1882 Farrer married Nina de Salis the only daughter of Leopold Fane de Salis, the then Member of Parliament for Queanbeyan, NSW.

Darwin married Emma Cecilia " Ida " Farrer ( 1854 – 1946 ), daughter of Thomas Farrer, 1st Baron Farrer in January 1880, and they had one son and two daughters:

Lord Hobhouse married, on 10 August 1848, Mary ( d 1905 ), daughter of Thomas Farrer, solicitor, and sister of Thomas Farrer, 1st Baron Farrer, Sir William Farrer ( d 1911 ), and Cecilia Frances ( d 1910 ), wife of Stafford Northcote, 1st Earl of Iddesleigh.
