Federally and provincially, the entire city of Waterloo is contained within the Kitchener — Waterloo electoral district.

Federally, Santa Fe Springs is located in California's 38th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of D + 20 and is represented by Democrat Grace Napolitano, whose office is also in the city of Santa Fe Springs.

Federally, the city is part of the Kenora riding and is represented by Greg Rickford, a Conservative.

It began in 2004 when tensions rooted in the Pakistani Army's search for al-Qaeda members in Pakistan's mountainous Waziristan area ( in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas ) escalated into armed resistance by local tribesmen.

Urbanization during the colonial period was marked by forms of racial and social segregation — often expressed in terms of health and hygiene — which continue to structure the city today.

The promontory adjoining the city is evidently that noticed by Ptolemy (), but the Caralitanum Promontorium of Pliny can be no other than the headland, now called Capo Carbonara, which forms the eastern boundary of the Gulf of Cagliari, and the southeast point of the whole island.
