Both parties suspended fighting to form a Second United Front to focus their energies and fighting against the Japanese.

In the midst of the Second United Front, the CPC and the KMT were still vying for territorial advantage in " Free China " ( i. e. areas not occupied by the Japanese or ruled by Japanese puppet governments such as Manchukuo and the Reorganized National Government of China ).

It also ended the Second United Front which had been formed earlier to fight the Japanese.

By then, the Nationalists under Chiang Kai-shek and the Communists under Mao Zedong had signed a ceasefire to create the Second United Front and fight the Japanese invasion of China, which began in July.

The Japanese Red Army, Nihon Sekigun from 1971 had very close ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine ( PFLP ).

Chinese nationalism had been roused by the Japanese invasion, but potential Chinese resistance was strengthened by Xian Incident leading to the United Front of Kuomintang and the Chinese Communist Party.

The importance of " internal unity before external danger " was forcefully brought home in December 1936, when Chiang Kai-shek, in an event now known as the Xi ' an Incident, was kidnapped by Zhang Xueliang and forced to ally with the Communists against the Japanese in the Second Kuomintang-CCP United Front against Japan.

There was also a Second United Front ( 1937 – 43 ) to fight the Japanese during World War II.

The Lod Airport massacre was a terrorist attack that occurred on May 30, 1972, in which three members of the Japanese Red Army having been recruited by the Palestinian group called the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine ( PFLP ) killed 26 people and injured 80 others at Tel Aviv's Lod airport ( now Ben Gurion International Airport ).

In the wake of the Second United Front formed after the Xi ' an Incident, this event broke the " Final Point " ( 最後關頭 ) of Chiang's tolerance of Japanese aggression according to his policy of " internal pacification before external resistance.

* May 30 – Acting on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, three members of the Japanese Red Army attack passengers at Lod Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, with assault rifles and hand grenades, killing 26 people and injuring 80.

Front independent front ( by MacPherson struts, as opposed to the more costly multi-link front setup of the more refined and luxurious Japanese Diamante that had been benchmarked against the BMW 5-series ) and rear ( an advanced multi-link setup putting to shame the more basic setups of its rivals, Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon ), along with disc brakes with the option of a multi-channel anti-lock braking system ( ABS ).

As a strong advocate of the United Front, Wang was damaged as well by the KMT's failure in the battlefield as the KMT forces bore the brunt of the fighting ; under Mao's urging the Communists rarely engaged the Japanese army in significant battles.
