* Mayor LaTrivia ( Gale Gordon )-the mayor of Wistful Vista, whose name was inspired by New York's famous mayor Fiorello La Guardia.

Before Bryan joined the cast, Gale Gordon played the part of the town doctor in several episodes.

The Jordans were experts at transforming the ethnic humor of vaudeville into more rounded comic characters, no doubt due in part to the affection felt for the famous supporting cast members who voiced these roles, including Bill Thompson ( as the Old Timer and Wimple ), Harold Peary ( as Gildersleeve ), Gale Gordon ( as LaTrivia ), Arthur Q. Bryan ( as Dr. Gamble ; Bryan also voiced Elmer Fudd for the Warner Brothers Looney Tunes cartoons, which also borrowed lines from Fibber McGee and Molly from time to time ), Isabel Randolph ( as Mrs. Uppington ), Marlin Hurt ( a white male who played in dialect the McGee's maid, Beulah ), and others.

Harold Peary also appears in both as Gildersleeve, with Arthur Q. Bryan, Bill Thompson, Harlow Wilcox, Gale Gordon, and Isabel Randolph appearing in both their show roles and as other characters.

The Jordans ' participation in Look Who's Laughing was set up in the Fibber McGee & Molly episode " Amusement Park " ( 6 / 17 / 41 ), in which Gale Gordon played an RKO pictures representative who followed the McGees around the amusement park and chose the McGees as a representative American couple to star in a movie with Edger Bergen and Charlie McCarthy.

Burns and Allen had several regulars on radio, including Toby Reed, Gale Gordon, Bea Benaderet, Gracie's real-life friend Mary " Bubbles " Kelly, Ray Noble, singers Jimmy Cash and Tony Martin and actor / writer / director Elliott Lewis.

Gale Gordon and Bea Benaderet, supporting cast members on My Favorite Husband, were originally approached for the roles of Fred and Ethel, but neither could accept owing to previous commitments.

While doing Husband, veteran character actors Gale Gordon and Bea Benaderet had played Rudolph and Iris Atterbury, an older, more financially stable couple as Mr. Atterbury was George Cooper's ( Lucy's radio husband's ) boss.

In 1977, Vance and Ball were reunited one last time in the CBS special, Lucy Calls the President, which co-starred Gale Gordon.

The Gildersleeve character, played by Harold Peary, became series broadcasting's first successful spin-off hit ; that plus the onset of World War II ( which cost Fibber McGee & Molly their Mayor LaTrivia, when Gale Gordon went into the Coast Guard in early 1942, and " The Old Timer " Bill Thompson was drafted almost a year later ) nabbed nearly every other remaining male voice.

To add adversity to Gildersleeve's world is the aforementioned surly neighbor from across the street: the retired millionaire Rumson Bullard, after initial portrayals by another actor, was portrayed definitively by Gale Gordon, who was more pompous than the earlier version of the Gildersleeve character.

A significant change in cast and premise for the 1965-66 season divides the program into two distinct eras ; aside from Ball, only Gale Gordon, who joined the program for its second season, remained.

Gale Gordon ( February 20, 1906 – June 30, 1995 ) was an American character actor perhaps best remembered as Lucille Ball's longtime television foil — and particularly as cantankerously combustible, tightfisted bank executive Theodore J. Mooney, on Ball's second television situation comedy, The Lucy Show.

Honor Blackman played Dr. Cathy Gale, a self-assured, quick-witted anthropologist who was skilled in judo and had a passion for wearing leather clothes.

La Galerna del Cantábrico ( The Gale of the Cantabrian Sea ), as he was known, played outside-left and was noted not only for having great speed ( he could run 100 meters in 11 seconds flat and was almost as quick with a ball at his feet ), but also for his skills with the ball and his scoring prowess from the midfield position.

" Barry Dennen played Pilate on the " Brown Album ", on Broadway and in the 1973 film version of the musical, directed by Norman Jewison, with Fred Johanson taking the role in the 2000 revival, directed by Gale Edwards.

The partner of John Steed, Mrs Peel was introduced as a replacement for the popular Cathy Gale, played by actress Honor Blackman, who left the series at the end of the programme's third season to co-star in the James Bond film Goldfinger.
