Garage punk bands from all over — such as Medway's Thee Mighty Caesars, Chicago's Dwarves, and Adelaide's Exploding White Mice — pursued a version of punk rock that was close to its roots in 1960s garage rock.

Among the nation's first bands that played Christian rock was The Crusaders, a Southern Californian garage rock band, whose November 1966 Tower Records album Make a Joyful Noise with Drums and Guitars is considered one of the first gospel rock releases, or even " the first record of Christian rock ", and Mind Garage, " arguably the first band of its kind ", whose 1967 Electric Liturgy was recorded in 1969 at RCA's " Nashville Sound " studio.

Following the re-release of their album At First Sight, Violets Are Blue and the release of the Mushroom Soup: The Citadel Years in 2003, The Stems found themselves playing to packed houses across the country, touring Europe, playing the prestigious " Little Stevens Underground Garage Festival " in August 2005, and then at the " Come Together Festival " at Sydney ’ s Luna Park with the cream of Australia ’ s newest bands in September 2005.

Metallica's cover album Garage Inc. included covers of two Discharge and three Misfits songs, while Slayer's cover album Undisputed Attitude consisted of covers of predominately hardcore punk bands.

In November 2006, the Dolls began headlining " Little Steven's Underground Garage Presents the Rolling Rock and Roll Show ," about 20 live gigs with numerous other bands.

: Garage Days Re-Revisited was a collection of covers paying homage to a number of mostly obscure bands, which were later combined with additional new covers on the double album Garage Inc., which among other things included covers of Black Sabbath (" Sabbra Cadabra "), Bob Seger (" Turn the Page "), Blue Öyster Cult (" Astronomy "), Mercyful Fate ( a medley of different songs of the band ), and numerous Motörhead tracks.

In addition to the Protopunk of New York's The Velvet Underground and Suicide, and Detroit ’ s The Stooges and MC5, Kember's and Pierce's musical influences included: US 60s Psychedelic rock, such as The Thirteenth Floor Elevators ; US 60s Garage rock ; 60s British Invasion bands ; Rock n ' Roll ; Buddy Holly ; Surf music ; The Beach Boys ; early, seminal Electronic music, e. g. Silver Apples, Delia Derbyshire and Laurie Anderson ; Krautrock ; The Gun Club, The Cramps and Tav Falco ’ s Panther Burns ; early Chicago blues, e. g. Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Howlin ’ Wolf ; early Delta blues ; gospel and early Staple Singers ; Otis Reading ; the production techniques of Brian Wilson, Joe Meek and Phil Spector ; and the avant-garde jazz and free jazz of Sun Ra and John Coltrane.

New York City also was one of the primary centers of the Garage Rock Revival of the early 2000s, most notably with bands such as The Strokes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as well as less popular bands such as The Bravery, The Mooney Suzuki, The Walkmen, The Hold Steady, The Virgins and The Rapture.

The carnival starts with a procession of floats ( usually 5 or 6 ) leaving the Deighton Centre from approximately 1pm, playing Reggae Dancehall, Bassline, RnB, Garage and Reggae on the road, costumed bands make up more of the procession including Suga Brown dance group, " Whitacre TRA " and also from Bradley Junior and Infant and Ashbrow Junior and Infant schools.

In the early 1980s, NYC disco DJ Larry Levan, known for his eclectic mixes, gained a cult following, and the Paradise Garage, the nightclub at which he spun, became the prototype for the modern dance club where the music and the DJ were showcased.

On closure, all its routes and vehicles were transferred to Fulwell Garage, but the building remained under the ownership of London Transport until the mid-1990s when it was demolished to make way for a housing development.

Three buildings — Rosenberry's Garage, Morlan General Store, and Anspach Cafe ' -- were total losses, while buildings containing O. L.

: Garage Days Re-Revisited has been out of print for many years and is considered a collector's item, all five tracks were later included on the 1998 double-album Garage Inc., along with a number of other covers Metallica had recorded throughout its career, as well as a collection of entirely new recordings.

Like the Droopsnoot Firenza, the HS was available only in silver, with red highlighting and a bright red, black and tartan interior ; though ( partly to help sell unsold vehicles ) some cars were repainted black, such the Mamos Garage HS-X.

The first set of records released by Wicked Cool were new albums from Underground Garage favorites the Charms, the Chesterfield Kings and the Cocktail Slippers ; and ‘ Fuzz For The Holidays ,’ by Davie Allan and the Arrows and ‘ CBGB Forever ,’ a tribute to the famous, now-defunct venue.
