" When The Clock On The Wall Strikes 10 ", the first musical number in the film, is part of the same scene as " Just Wait ' Til I Get Through With It ", Groucho's song about the laws of his administration.

One line, Groucho's aside referencing Margaret Dumont's character, " I think I'll try and make her ", as in " seduce her ", was chopped from all known prints of the film during the 1936 re-release, due to its violation of the Hays Code.

The program's theme music was an instrumental version of " Hooray for Captain Spaulding ", which became increasingly identified as Groucho's personal theme song.

* Elvis's death occurred only three days before that of Groucho Marx ; fans of Groucho blamed Elvis's death for Groucho's death not getting as much publicity as they felt he deserved, and fans of Elvis likewise blamed Groucho.

The 23rd episode also reused scenes from Animal Crackers, including the stolen diamond plot and Groucho's lines regarding the need for a seven-cent nickel.

Foreshadowing the " stateroom " scene from A Night at the Opera, all four Marx brothers and the main antagonist take turns going in and out of Connie Bailey's room, and eventually their movements pile up on each other, resulting in a crowded, bustling scene, notable both by Groucho's breaking of the fourth wall during Chico's piano solo, and his constant opening of his umbrella and removing his shoes upon entering the room.

According to the book Raised Eyebrows by Groucho's secretary Steve Stoliar, Fleming had several personal problems ; he stated in his book that she used drugs, had mood swings, and was given to inappropriate outbursts, both in public and in private.

" George Fenneman, his radio and TV announcer, good-natured foil, and lifelong friend, often related a story in subsequent years of one of his final visits to Groucho's home: When the time came to end the visit, Fenneman lifted Groucho from his wheelchair, put his arms around his torso, and began to " walk " the frail comedian backwards across the room toward his bed.

At Groucho's Carnegie Hall concert in the early 1970s, accompanist Marvin Hamlisch played the song as Groucho made his entrance onstage.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Groucho's appearance in 1972 at Carnegie Hall with Dick Cavett, Cavett related on NPR's All Things Considered ( May 6, 2012 ) that Groucho was not a fan of Sam Wood.

Groucho's final appearance was a brief sketch with George Burns in the Bob Hope television Special Joys in 1976.

Hackstabber's name is a play on Rufus T. Firefly, Groucho's character in Duck Soup.

Groucho's voice becomes deep and droning as he steps apart from the other characters to comment on the scene :" Living with your folks.

Groucho's UCLA appearance generated national press coverage.

This was a tribute to Harpo and Groucho's famous mirror scene in the Marx Brothers comedy classic, Duck Soup.

The two songs anchored her first full-length album, Hello, I'm Dolly.
